Oversee a range of critical tasks including project planning, execution, and monitoring to ensure timely and high-quality delivery. Support the implementation of R-DATS project development, research, monitoring, and evaluation activities.

This role offers a prime chance to develop substantial practical skills in research methodologies, survey implementation, and data administration.

The NYC Survey Data Analysis Intern will perform a range of key responsibilities, including conducting detailed data analysis, interpreting survey results, and generating actionable insights to support decision-making processes. This role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy, preparing comprehensive reports, and assisting in the development of data-driven recommendations. Additionally, the intern will be responsible for maintaining and updating databases, performing statistical analyses, and presenting findings to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner. Proficiency in data analysis tools, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently are essential for success in this position.

Support the execution of research initiatives, including baseline studies, impact assessments, and mid-term reviews.

Assist in developing data collection instruments and comprehensive data analysis strategies to ensure thorough and accurate evaluation.

Assist with gathering, inputting, processing, verifying, and refining data to ensure accuracy and integrity.

Ensure strict adherence to all established data quality protocols throughout the processes of data collection and data cleaning.

Responsibilities include collecting and organizing data, performing essential analysis, creating visual representations of data, compiling reports, and sharing findings with relevant stakeholders.

Collaborate with the RATS team to compile reports, aggregate data, and share success stories and key lessons.

Facilitate the coordination and organization of daily research activities in alignment with established project implementation plans.

Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as directed by the supervisor to support operational needs and ensure alignment with team objectives.

Key qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or commensurate experience, proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel and SQL, and prior experience in project management. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams. Familiarity with industry-specific software and platforms is preferred, as is a track record of delivering measurable results in fast-paced environments. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are required to interact with stakeholders at all levels.

A bachelor’s degree in Demography, Economics, Statistics, Sociology, Public Health, or another closely related quantitative discipline is required.

Proficiency in using State or SPSS for survey data analysis is a mandatory requirement.

Proficient in quantitative analysis and skilled in utilizing data visualization and statistical software tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, and MS Excel, is required.

Proficiency in executing research initiatives, analyzing survey data, and performing program monitoring and evaluation (M&E) is strongly preferred.

Proficiency in utilizing extensive secondary datasets, including MICS, DHS, and NARKS, would be highly beneficial.

Proficient in English verbal and written communication, demonstrating a commitment to quality and meticulous attention to detail.

Cultural awareness and a proven capacity to collaborate effectively within varied team environments.

Capable of working autonomously, analyzing challenges, and seeking assistance promptly when necessary.

Demonstrated expertise in utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and PowerPoint, is essential.
