What you will do:

Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen functions throughout all service periods to ensure seamless operations.

Craft and deliver innovative fusion dishes that blend Afro-inspired flavors with international culinary influences, ensuring exceptional quality and consistency throughout service.

Oversee the kitchen operations seamlessly in the Head Chef’s absence, ensuring unwavering quality and maintaining peak efficiency throughout service.

Collaborate on the creation of innovative dishes and seasonal menu revisions aligned with the restaurant’s distinctive fusion concept.

Oversee kitchen inventory management by conducting regular stock counts, placing orders as needed, and monitoring waste to ensure efficiency and cost control.

Oversee portion control, food preparation, and plating procedures at every station to ensure consistency and adherence to standards.

Responsibilities include providing thorough training and mentorship to junior kitchen staff, ensuring they master essential techniques, adhere to established standards, and comply with food safety protocols.

Ensure the kitchen consistently adheres to rigorous hygiene and cleanliness protocols at every moment.

What we are looking for:

Minimum 3 years of professional kitchen experience is required, with direct involvement in fusion cuisine, encompassing Afro and international culinary styles.

A degree or diploma from a recognized culinary institution is preferred, yet substantial, demonstrated hands-on experience in the field may also be taken into account.

Possesses extensive expertise in a wide range of ingredients, culinary methods, and flavor dynamics spanning various culinary traditions.

Demonstrates a strong ability to maintain accurate inventory tracking, oversee stock levels, and generate detailed kitchen reports.

Must demonstrate the capacity to assume full leadership and operational control of the kitchen during designated periods with autonomy and assurance.

Meticulous focus is required on all aspects of food quality, presentation, and hygiene standards.

Maintains composure, concentration, and productivity despite high-pressure service situations.

A collaborative professional who readily follows instructions and fosters a positive kitchen environment through their contributions.
