Teachers serve as entry-level support professionals who provide instruction to missionaries across diverse settings and subjects. Training may encompass language proficiency, gospel doctrine and Preach My Gospel methodology, as well as the development of missionary skills. They may instruct both junior and senior missionaries before, during, and after their time at the MTC. Teachers adhere to a structured, approved curriculum and may be chosen to contribute to pilot programs and special initiatives.

The position involves reporting to a trainer or supervisor within the Training department.
Delivers guidance, instruction, and constructive feedback to missionaries across various training formats, including individual coaching sessions, small group discussions, large-scale workshops, and oversight of Canvas platform engagement and discussion board interactions.
Plans and develops lesson plans in alignment with the approved curriculum, collaborating with a companion teacher when necessary to address the missionary’s requirements.
Oversees the strategic planning and financial management processes for missionary education initiatives.
Carries out directives and guidance provided by the Teacher Trainer/Supervisor, Manager of Training, and Senior Manager of Training.
Attends weekly training sessions and actively engages in collaborative planning meetings with co-teachers.
Assists area leadership by collaborating with mission and Missionary Department leadership as needed.
Prepares and presents regular updates on the status and advancement of delegated projects to senior management.
Coaches provide guidance and mentorship to missionaries, facilitating their preparation for practice sessions and live lessons, ensuring they are equipped for effective delivery.
Candidates may be required to evaluate the language proficiency of prospective missionaries and teaching applicants in the target language.
May occasionally assume supplementary duties as an Actor to portray a non-member inquiring about The Church of Jesus Christ.
As opportunities arise, additional duties may be assigned in the role of Training Area Assistant, contingent upon available time.
May involve additional temporary assignments at the MTC, such as providing support for the Mission Leadership Seminar.
