About the MNH-ASSIST Project

The MPH-ASSIST project is designed to enhance the consistent availability, accessibility, utilization, monitoring, and reporting of Maternal and Newborn Health (MNH) bundle commodities across supported health facilities. This will be accomplished through collaborative efforts involving multiple stakeholders, including government agencies such as the Smog, Spicas, DMA/CMS, health facilities, and partners including FIELD Intelligence, C4SD, CEPAP, TA Connect, Scalar, and CHAI, among others. The initiative aims to sustainably achieve key objectives such as: ensuring efficient last-mile delivery of MNH commodities to facilities, strengthening states’ capacity to plan, finance, and implement last-mile distribution, digitizing state-level logistics management information systems (LUIS) to enable real-time visibility of logistics data, implementing consumption-driven forecasting and quantification of MNH bundle commodities, and reinforcing drug revolving fund (DRF) programs to guarantee the continuous replenishment of MNH commodities.

The initiative seeks to enhance affordability of bundled Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (MNCH) services for target populations by utilizing established public and donor-funded financing frameworks that safeguard women and families from financial vulnerabilities. These mechanisms encompass national and subnational health insurance programs, complimentary or subsidized MNCH services integrated within the BHCPF 2.0 and HOPE-PHC initiatives, as well as state-level free MNCH programs where applicable.
