Corridor Activation for GTC Nigeria Gambia Ugric Export Activation

Design and implement a cold storage infrastructure at the Port of Banjul, ensuring a minimum storage capacity of 500 metric tons is achieved.

Secure binding offtake agreements for Lagos, with the requirement of at least one formal contract with a Lagos-based wholesale fish importer prior to the initial shipment.

Execute the inaugural containerized export shipment, facilitating transport between Banjul and Lagos in both directions. This critical milestone serves as the definitive validation of the entire operational model.

Strong analytical skills, proficiency in financial reporting, and adherence to regulatory compliance are essential for success in this position.

Manages and oversees regulatory and compliance frameworks to ensure organizational adherence to legal, industry, and internal standards. Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, and controls to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines. Conducts regular audits, assessments, and monitoring activities to identify gaps, deficiencies, or areas of non-compliance, and recommends corrective actions. Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including legal, operations, and senior management, to address compliance issues and implement solutions. Stays current with evolving regulatory requirements and industry best practices to proactively adapt compliance strategies.

Ensure impeccable regulatory compliance across both Nigeria and The Gambia, encompassing all necessary certifications and authorities. This includes adherence to standards set by the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS), National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON), the Gambia Revenue Authority, as well as phytosanitary certification requirements. The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for maintaining zero compliance gaps in all regulatory obligations.

Assist the Compliance & Licensing Officer in overseeing CBN foreign exchange regulations, ensuring accurate FCC reporting, and meeting the Gambia Central Bank requirements for the activation of corridor financial services.

Candidates must fulfill the following qualifications: a minimum of five years of experience in a similar role, proficiency in project management software, and a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. The ideal applicant will demonstrate strong analytical skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and the capacity to lead cross-functional teams. Additionally, prior experience in budget forecasting and risk assessment is essential. Familiarity with agile methodologies and industry-specific compliance standards is highly preferred. All applicants should possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines.

A master’s degree in Agricultural Business with a specialization in Agricultural Economics, coupled with a decade of hands-on experience in pan-African trade, forms the foundation of this professional profile.

Proficiency in managing agricultural export operations throughout West Africa is an essential prerequisite for this role.

Proficiency in customs regulations governing export activities, agribusiness operations, or structured trade finance, supported by a minimum of two years of hands-on experience in a direct profit-and-loss accountability position.

Experienced in managing cross-border or multi-country operations within the agricultural export sector.
