The Regulatory Manager oversees the comprehensive adherence to regulatory standards for Slam Agra’s wheat milling and pasta products throughout manufacturing, sourcing, import/export, labeling, and commercialization processes. Serving as the primary regulatory liaison, the position bridges internal teams—Operations, Quality Assurance, Research & Development, and Sales—with external governing bodies, while mitigating potential risks and fostering sustainable business expansion.

Key Deliverables

Ensures adherence to regulatory standards and governance frameworks by overseeing policies, procedures, and internal controls to mitigate risks and maintain organizational integrity. Collaborates with legal, operational, and executive teams to interpret complex regulations, implement compliance initiatives, and conduct regular audits. Develops and delivers training programs to promote a culture of compliance across all departments. Monitors emerging regulatory changes and assesses their impact on business operations, recommending strategic adjustments as needed. Serves as a liaison with external regulatory bodies to address inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and uphold the company’s reputation.

Maintain adherence to all applicable animal feed regulations, including Nigeria’s NAFDAC and SON, as well as international standards such as EC, FDA, Codex, GMP+, and FAMINES.

Interpret both emerging and established regulations that govern wheat milling, as well as the sourcing, use, and formulation of pasta ingredients, additives, and premixes.

Develop, execute, and oversee regulatory compliance frameworks, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and internal policies to ensure organizational adherence to applicable laws and standards.

Responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of product registration and securing necessary approvals, ensuring strict adherence to regulatory standards and timelines. Manages the preparation, submission, and tracking of all required documentation to pertinent authorities, while coordinating with cross-functional teams to facilitate efficient approval processes. Monitors updates in regulatory guidelines to guarantee ongoing compliance and proactively addresses any discrepancies or challenges that may arise.

Oversee the entire lifecycle of product registrations, licenses, and renewals specifically for wheat milling and pasta products, as well as their raw materials.

Prepare and manage regulatory submissions, dossiers, technical documentation, and certificates to ensure compliance with applicable standards and guidelines.

Oversee the approval process for ingredients, ensure adherence to feed additive regulations, and monitor permissible usage levels.

Maintain adherence to applicable certifications, including ISO 22000:2018 and ISO 14001:2015.

Deliver regulatory training sessions to internal stakeholders to ensure comprehensive understanding and compliance with applicable regulations.

Engage in relevant professional organizations and attend conferences as required, such as those hosted by MAN or AF BTE.

Monitoring evolving regulatory requirements and amendments at both national and international levels to ensure ongoing compliance.

Performing comprehensive regulatory risk evaluations and devising corresponding mitigation strategies to ensure compliance and minimize potential exposures.

Oversee the processing and handling of electronic submissions through government applications such as Nepal and NAPALMS.

Liaise with regulatory agencies throughout the review phases to facilitate the prompt issuance of certificates.

Oversee the processes for registering and renewing products.

Ensure strict adherence to labeling and packaging regulations and standards.

Maintain accurate regulatory files and documentation in accordance with applicable standards and guidelines.

Collaborate with multifunctional teams—including Research & Development, Production, Quality Assurance, and Engineering—to facilitate the prompt resolution of feedback.

Convey regulatory mandates to key internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment with organizational policies and compliance standards.

Engage in strategic discussions with regulatory bodies to address and resolve any arising concerns or discrepancies effectively.

Engage actively in internal audits and quality inspections to ensure compliance with established standards and protocols.

Enact corrective actions alongside preventive measures to mitigate potential issues and ensure sustained operational integrity.

Seeking a skilled professional who meets the following criteria: a minimum of five years of experience in a comparable role, proficiency in industry-standard software and tools, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and strong communication skills. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proven track record of leadership in team collaboration, project management, and deadline adherence, along with the capacity to adapt to evolving business needs. Familiarity with relevant regulatory frameworks, data analysis, and strategic planning is essential. Additionally, the candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in a related field, along with any necessary certifications or advanced training pertinent to the position.

Seeking a candidate with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Ideal applicants will possess advanced degrees or specialized certifications where applicable. Proficiency in academic research, analytical thinking, and subject-matter expertise is essential. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required to convey complex concepts effectively. A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or a closely related field is required.

A master’s degree or relevant professional certification is highly desirable.

Experience

With a minimum of five to seven years of hands-on regulatory or quality/regulatory experience, preferably within the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), food, or agricultural commodities sectors, the ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in compliance and quality assurance practices.

Skilled in navigating feed regulations, additives, labeling, and import/export protocols with precision and expertise.

With a proven track record in manufacturing environments and expertise in navigating multicountry regulatory frameworks, candidates should demonstrate hands-on experience in these areas. Familiarity with diverse compliance standards and the ability to align operational practices with international regulations will be essential. This role requires adaptability to varying regulatory landscapes and a keen understanding of cross-border manufacturing processes.

Preferred candidates will have prior experience in large multinational organizations or within the commodity and agribusiness sectors.
