Basic Functions

The Manager of Aircraft Cabin and IFE Maintenance oversees the strategic planning, implementation, and supervision of all maintenance operations pertaining to aircraft cabin interiors and In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) systems within Air Peace’s fleet. This role is tasked with upholding the utmost standards of safety, reliability, passenger comfort, and adherence to regulatory requirements as mandated by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, other key regulatory bodies, and Air Peace’s established procedures. The position functions under the direct supervision of the Head of Maintenance.

Seeking a highly motivated candidate to fill this role, the ideal applicant must possess a minimum of three years of relevant experience in the field. A bachelor’s degree in a related discipline is required, along with proficiency in key software tools such as Microsoft Office Suite and project management platforms. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, are also necessary to effectively interact with team members and stakeholders. Education: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree—or an equivalent qualification—in aeronautical, mechanical, or electrical engineering. Alternatively, a Diploma in Aviation Maintenance with an ICAO Type II license is acceptable.

With a minimum of 10 years in Aircraft Maintenance, including at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity specifically dedicated to Cabin and IFE systems, you bring extensive hands-on expertise to this role.

Highly skilled in operating and maintaining both narrow-body and wide-body aircraft, including models such as the Boeing 737 and 777.

Certifications: Candidates must possess an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) License, with a preference for those holding a relevant category rating, particularly in Airframe and Avionics.

IFE/Cabin systems-specific training, particularly with leading manufacturers such as Thales, Panasonic, or Collins Aerospace, is highly desirable.

Technical Skills: Demonstrated expertise in cabin structures, materials, and composites, along with comprehensive knowledge of In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) hardware and software systems. Strong proficiency in diagnosing and resolving issues across electrical, electronic, and mechanical cabin systems.

Required competencies include exceptional leadership, analytical thinking, effective communication, and strong interpersonal abilities. Candidates must demonstrate the capacity to perform efficiently under pressure within a continuous, round-the-clock aviation operational setting.

We are seeking an experienced professional to oversee daily operations and ensure the seamless execution of assigned tasks. Provide guidance, oversight, and professional growth opportunities for the Cabin and IFE Maintenance teams to ensure optimal performance. Evaluate their work continuously to maintain high standards of reliability in cabin systems and in-flight entertainment, thereby enhancing the overall passenger experience.

Develop and implement maintenance schedules for cabin interiors—including seats, galleys, lavatories, carpets, panels, lighting, and IFE systems such as screens, servers, wiring, software, and audio/video distribution—to ensure timely execution of scheduled, unscheduled, and modification tasks. Uphold compliance with NCAA regulations, OEM manuals, Air Peace Maintenance Procedures, and international standards (e.g., EASA/FAA where applicable) while maintaining airworthiness of cabin and IFE components at all times.

Quality Control involves performing inspections, audits, and quality assessments of cabin and IFE maintenance operations. Additionally, the role entails overseeing defect resolution, troubleshooting system issues, and conducting thorough testing.

Resource Management involves overseeing the inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment required for cabin and IFE maintenance. Additionally, the role requires collaboration with suppliers, workshops, and third-party Mrs to facilitate repairs and overhauls.

Prepare and oversee the departmental budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources. Continuously seek cost-saving initiatives without compromising safety standards or product quality.

Ensure precise maintenance records, logbooks, and technical documentation are meticulously maintained. Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports to senior management, detailing system reliability, recurring defects, and performance metrics for informed decision-making.

Work collaboratively with the Head of Maintenance, Line and Base Maintenance, Maintenance Control, Technical Services, Planning, Flight Operations, and Cabin Crew to address issues and enhance passenger experience.

Identify training requirements and oversee the provision of all necessary certifications and ongoing instruction for team members regarding cabin and in-flight entertainment (IFE) systems.
