Job Summary

A prestigious legal firm is in search of a Litigation Associate with two to three years of post-qualification experience. The preferred applicant will exhibit a robust commitment to core litigation practice, coupled with exceptional professional acumen, unwavering integrity, and the capacity to operate autonomously within a dynamic legal setting.

Oversee and execute core duties that encompass managing daily operations, ensuring workflow efficiency, and maintaining high standards of performance. Lead cross-functional teams to achieve organizational objectives while fostering collaboration and accountability. Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance productivity, streamline processes, and drive continuous improvement across departments. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess progress, identify trends, and implement corrective actions as needed. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety protocols to mitigate risks and uphold operational integrity.

Oversee litigation matters through all stages, from initial filing to final resolution, requiring minimal oversight.

Compose legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, motions, and formal written submissions.

Perform comprehensive legal research and deliver well-reasoned legal opinions.

Represent clients in court proceedings with professionalism and efficacy, as circumstances demand.

Oversee case files while maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring timely follow-ups.

Work collaboratively with colleagues to address intricate legal issues and achieve shared objectives.

Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality regarding all client and organizational data.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of five years of hands-on experience in software development, preferably in a leadership or mentorship role. Proficiency in multiple programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++ is essential, along with a strong understanding of algorithms and data structures. Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure and familiarity with DevOps practices are also required. Excellent problem-solving skills, effective communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset are must-haves for this position.

Holders of a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree are required for this position.

Called to the Nigerian Bar with a Barrister-at-Law (B. L) qualification and possesses 2 to 3 years of post-call professional experience.

Proficiency in core litigation practice is essential, with a proven track record of hands-on involvement in legal proceedings. Applicants must demonstrate practical expertise in managing and executing litigation-related tasks, ensuring adherence to procedural and substantive legal standards. Strong familiarity with courtroom dynamics, case preparation, and legal strategy development is required to effectively navigate complex litigation matters.

Proficient communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities are essential for this role. Strong organizational and time management skills, along with the ability to collaborate effectively in team settings, are required.
