Role Summary

We are in search of a proactive and technically proficient Electrical Engineer or Technician to oversee the operation, maintenance, and reliability of electrical systems at our pharmaceutical manufacturing facility.

The ideal candidate will lead a group of electricians and technicians, maintaining the reliable operation of essential electrical systems while adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety standards.

Oversee and execute critical duties encompassing strategic planning, operational management, and cross-functional collaboration to drive organizational objectives. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and performance metrics to ensure efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement. Lead and mentor teams to foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and high performance. Analyze market trends, competitive landscapes, and internal data to inform decision-making and identify growth opportunities. Manage budgets, resources, and stakeholder relationships to optimize productivity and achieve sustainable results. Ensure adherence to industry regulations, ethical standards, and best practices while maintaining a focus on risk mitigation and quality assurance.

Perform regular maintenance as well as necessary repairs on electrical panels, control systems, production machinery, and industrial automation systems.

Assist audits and inspections by ensuring accurate documentation and supporting compliance preparedness.

Deliver specialized technical assistance during external audits, inspections, and risk evaluation processes.

Oversee the safe and reliable functioning of all electrical infrastructure, encompassing backup power systems, switchgear, lighting, motors, and distribution boards.

Oversee the seamless installation and commissioning of electrical components for newly procured equipment or system enhancements.

Maintain accurate electrical documentation, equipment manuals, and system diagrams while ensuring full compliance with applicable regulatory standards.

Collaborate with production and QA/QC teams to diagnose and resolve electrical faults efficiently.

Verify that all electrical equipment adheres to GMP, WHO, and NAFDAC regulatory standards.

Oversee electrical energy consumption and develop actionable strategies to enhance efficiency while minimizing costs.

Qualifications & Experience

A degree in Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.), Higher National Diploma (HND), Ordinary National Diploma (OND), or a relevant Diploma in Electrical or Electronic Engineering is required.

Professional experience in electrical maintenance is required, with a preference for candidates who have worked in pharmaceutical, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), or manufacturing settings.

NABTEB.

Trade Test 1, 2, and 3 must be successfully completed to demonstrate proficiency in the required technical skills and competencies. These assessments evaluate the candidate’s ability to perform essential job functions, ensuring adherence to industry standards and operational requirements. Each test level assesses progressively advanced skills, verifying readiness for the associated role.
