Job Summary

We are looking to hire a skilled Accountant to oversee the financial operations of a burgeoning technology startup. Candidates must demonstrate a proven track record in finance and accounting, along with a keen eye for identifying numerical discrepancies and interpreting records. The ideal applicant will deliver precise quantitative and qualitative insights regarding the company’s financial standing, liquidity, and cash flow to key stakeholders while ensuring full adherence to regulatory requirements.

Oversee the execution of daily operations to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and maintain high standards of efficiency and productivity. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to foster collaboration, streamline workflows, and address any operational challenges that may arise. Monitor performance metrics and implement data-driven strategies to drive continuous improvement and achieve measurable outcomes. Develop and enforce policies, procedures, and best practices to uphold compliance, safety, and quality standards across all departments. Provide leadership and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and professional growth. Manage resource allocation, budget oversight, and risk mitigation to optimize operational effectiveness and financial sustainability.

Compile financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Support the analysis of financial data and generate variance analysis reports identifying discrepancies and trends.

Develop comprehensive budget forecasts to guide financial planning and decision-making processes.

Compile monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in adherence to established accounting standards and deadlines.

Reconcile accounts payable and receivable records to ensure accuracy and alignment with financial transactions. Verify discrepancies between invoices, payments, and outstanding balances while maintaining up-to-date documentation. Analyze financial data to identify variances, resolve inconsistencies, and update records in a timely manner. Collaborate with vendors, clients, and internal teams to validate transactions and facilitate corrective actions when necessary. Support month-end and year-end closing processes by providing detailed reports on account balances and reconciliation findings.

Guarantee prompt completion of all bank and payables transactions.

Compute and remit taxes, ensuring all tax filings and corporate income tax returns are accurately prepared and documented.

Accounts Payable professionals are responsible for efficiently managing invoice processing, which includes meticulously verifying and reconciling each invoice against corresponding purchase orders and receiving documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with established financial procedures.

Accounts Receivable personnel are responsible for tracking accounts receivable balances and pursuing overdue payments to ensure timely collections.

Examine and evaluate the organization’s financial stability and cash flow position, then compile and present detailed reports on findings.

Audit, compile, and maintain comprehensive records of all company financial transactions and documentation. Additionally, prepare and present detailed financial reports as required.

Ensure adherence to accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory mandates. Facilitate the preparation and provision of documentation and information required for both internal and external audits.

Develop, oversee, and administer project budgets with precision, aligning expenditures with corporate financial objectives while ensuring meticulous forecasting of both costs and revenues.

Preserve strict confidentiality and exercise careful judgment when managing sensitive financial data belonging to the company.

Execute additional responsibilities as directed by management, ensuring all assigned tasks are completed efficiently and in accordance with established protocols.

A strong understanding of accounting regulations, procedures, and standards is required, encompassing areas such as budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, cost control, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and IMPIS portfolio management.

Membership or certification from a reputable professional accounting organization, such as ICAN, ACA, ARCA, CFA, or CIA, will be considered a significant asset.

Requires practical proficiency in accounting software solutions such as QuickBooks, Sage Pastel, and Tally.

Proficient knowledge of tax regulations and the process of filing returns is essential for this role.

The ideal candidate should possess strong computer literacy and demonstrate advanced proficiency in utilizing MS Office or Google Sheets.

Requires strong ethical standards and the capacity to operate autonomously with minimal oversight.

Demonstrates exceptional proficiency in managing time effectively and consistently exhibiting proactive behavior in all situations.

Individuals seeking this role should possess practical experience in managing general ledgers and compiling year-end financial statements.
