The Programs Officer will oversee the strategic planning, coordination, execution, and evaluation of all programs and projects managed by the RIO Foundation. This position guarantees that initiatives are executed efficiently, adhere to deadlines, remain within allocated resources, and align with the organization’s objectives, donor specifications, and community priorities.
The successful candidate will significantly enhance program effectiveness by adeptly managing operations, compiling insightful reports, fostering strong stakeholder relationships, and driving ongoing enhancements to project execution.
Key responsibilities include overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring adherence to company policies and industry regulations, and managing cross-functional teams to achieve performance targets. Additional duties involve developing strategic plans, conducting performance evaluations, and identifying opportunities for process improvements. Collaboration with senior leadership is essential to align departmental objectives with broader organizational goals, while also fostering a culture of accountability and innovation. Regular reporting on key metrics and addressing any operational challenges promptly are also part of the role.
Direct and oversee the development, planning, and execution of programs and initiatives from inception to completion.
Prepare comprehensive work plans, allocate budgets, establish timelines, and create activity schedules in meticulous detail.
Oversee on-the-ground operations and collaborate closely with beneficiaries, partners, and local stakeholders to ensure program effectiveness.
You will assess and measure program effectiveness by analyzing established indicators and applying appropriate evaluation tools.
Collect, evaluate, and record program data, outcomes, and success stories to ensure comprehensive documentation and analysis.
Craft and deliver accurate narrative and financial reports to management and donors in a timely manner.
Verify adherence to all donor stipulations, internal organizational policies, and applicable regulatory mandates.
Assess potential risks associated with program execution and propose effective strategies to minimize or eliminate those risks.
Draft proposals and concept notes as needed to support organizational initiatives.
Develop and coordinate a variety of training sessions, workshops, and community engagement initiatives to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing among participants.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required. Minimum of three years of progressive accounting or finance experience is necessary. Proficiency in advanced Excel and financial software applications is essential. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are crucial. Excellent communication and organizational abilities are also required. Knowledge of GAAP and regulatory compliance standards is a must. Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting is preferred. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities is important.
A relevant bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Project Management, Public Administration, or an allied discipline is required.
Requires 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in program or project coordination roles, preferably within a non-governmental organization or development-focused entity.
Demonstrates exceptional proficiency in managing projects and maintaining meticulous organizational discipline. Exhibits a keen ability to coordinate tasks, allocate resources efficiently, and ensure projects are completed within established timelines while upholding high standards of quality.
Candidates possessing prior involvement in donor-funded initiatives will be viewed favorably.
Possesses exceptional abilities in both written and verbal communication.
Demonstrated expertise in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite applications, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is essential.
