ABOUT THE JOB:
The Mainstreaming Officer will oversee the timely and high-quality execution of field-level activities, supported technically by the coordinator, while managing the team and ensuring seamless program operations in close collaboration with other Protection actors. Additionally, they will uphold a survivor-centered approach, guaranteeing that GBV survivors and other vulnerable women and girls receive prompt and comprehensive services.
Perform duties encompassing the oversight and execution of [specific tasks], ensuring adherence to established protocols and standards. Provide leadership in coordinating projects, delegating responsibilities, and monitoring progress to guarantee timely completion. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify objectives, allocate resources efficiently, and mitigate potential risks. Maintain meticulous records, generate detailed reports, and analyze performance metrics to inform strategic decision-making. Uphold compliance with regulatory requirements while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within the team.
The Mainstreaming Officer will undertake a range of duties, both specified and implied within the scope of those explicitly outlined, including but not limited to the following responsibilities:
Collaborate effectively with designated safeguarding and protection specialists to uphold standards of safety and dignity in all program activities.
Integrate critical cross-cutting themes—including gender, age, disability, protection, safeguarding, accountability, and conflict sensitivity—into all sectoral initiatives, such as food security, WASH, shelter, and health.
Support the Coordinator in performing child protection and gender-based violence (GBV) assessments through the Inter-agency Child Protection Assessment Resource Toolkit. Modify the Assessment Tool to address the specific needs of GBV survivors as required. Collaborate with other Save the Children (SC) thematic sectors, national and district-level Child Protection Working Groups, and external GBV sector agencies to ensure accurate documentation of assessment findings and all relevant stakeholders are included.
Ensure humanitarian initiatives prioritize the prevention of harm while safeguarding the dignity, rights, and safety of vulnerable communities and proactively address potential protection risks.
To ensure equitable access to services, provide a secure environment tailored to the needs of women, children, older adults, individuals with disabilities, and marginalized communities.
Develop staff competencies to deliver direct and tailored support services to gender-based violence survivors effectively.
Perform gender, protection, and inclusion analyses and assessments to shape and enhance program planning initiatives.
Assist in incorporating gender-based violence cases into broader child protection case management frameworks, including CPMs, CFS, and PSS, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated support.
Identify survivors of gender-based violence promptly and ensure they receive counselling and other suitable response services.
Ensure that appropriate referral forms are properly established and executed.
Organize and facilitate monthly gatherings, such as the parent forum and child protection committee, ensuring structured discussions and effective participation from all attendees.
Deliver critical psychosocial first aid to individuals, including children and adults, as circumstances require.
Lead efforts to prevent and respond to sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) and gender-based violence within project communities.
Mentor, supervise, and oversee the implementation of gender-based violence initiatives while developing and maintaining monitoring action plans to ensure quality control.
Carry out or facilitate Gender and Inclusion Assessments to guide program development and implementation.

Qualification
A bachelor’s degree in psychology, social sciences, public health, nursing, or a closely related field from an accredited higher education institution is required, along with a minimum of two years of demonstrated professional experience in a comparable role or related capacity.
