As the Accountant, your role will involve overseeing the hotel’s day-to-day financial activities while ensuring adherence to international hospitality accounting standards and Nigeria’s tax regulations. Collaboration with department heads and senior leadership will be essential to drive profitability and uphold stringent financial precision.
Develops and executes strategic plans to enhance operational efficiency and achieve organizational goals. Oversees daily activities to ensure alignment with company objectives while managing cross-functional teams. Identifies process improvements, implements best practices, and monitors performance metrics to drive continuous enhancement. Collaborates with senior leadership to shape long-term business strategies and foster a culture of innovation and accountability. Ensures compliance with industry regulations and internal policies while mitigating risks.
Financial Reporting: Compile precise monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements as well as profit and loss reports.
Cost Control & Budgeting: Oversee hotel expenditures, evaluate budget variances, and collaborate with the Food & Beverage and Operations teams to optimize inventory management and minimize waste.
Conduct revenue audits by supervising the nightly audit process to guarantee precise reconciliation and recording of all room, banquet, and ancillary revenues.
Oversee the accurate and punctual submission and payment of all statutory deductions, including VAT, WHT, PAYE, and CIT, in strict adherence to FIRS and LIES regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities include monitoring accounts payable and receivable, managing credit operations, and preparing daily cash flow forecasts.
Maintain and enhance internal control policies to ensure robust protection of hotel assets and mitigate the risk of fraudulent activities.
What We Are Looking For
A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field is required.
ACA, ARCA, or CPA certification is an essential requirement for this position.
A minimum of five to seven years of progressively responsible accounting experience within the hospitality sector is required.
Requires strong skills in hospitality ERP systems, QuickBooks, and advanced Microsoft Excel.
