Job Summary
The Cashier will function as the main customer-facing representative for transactions conducted in the canteen. This position encompasses handling payments, managing cash registers and point-of-sale systems, generating receipts, reconciling daily sales reports, and delivering polite and efficient service to patrons.

The ideal candidate will undertake the following duties and responsibilities:
Processing payments received from customers via cash, point-of-sale systems, transfers, and other approved methods.
Responsibilities include meticulously documenting all sales transactions and providing receipts as required.
Responsible for processing customer transactions utilizing cash registers, point-of-sale (POS) terminals, and additional payment-processing systems.
At the conclusion of each shift, the individual is responsible for meticulously balancing cash drawers and conducting a thorough reconciliation of daily sales to ensure financial accuracy.
Responsibilities include meticulously documenting all transactions and compiling daily sales reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Providing support to customers by addressing questions about menu selections, pricing details, and payment processes.
Ensuring every transaction is executed in strict adherence to established company policies and procedures.
Promptly communicating any discrepancies, shortages, or suspicious transactions to management for immediate review and resolution.
The cashier’s workstation must be kept consistently clean and orderly at all times.
Collaborating effectively with kitchen and service personnel to facilitate seamless customer service delivery.
Assisting with inventory tracking and stock management duties as needed provides essential support to the operations team, ensuring accurate records and timely replenishment when required.
Maintaining the confidentiality and security of cash and financial information is a critical responsibility.
Assisting management with additional tasks to enhance canteen operations as deemed necessary.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience is required for this position. Candidates must possess at least three years of demonstrated experience in a related role, along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in industry-specific software and tools is essential, and familiarity with regulatory standards is a must. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary to liaise effectively with stakeholders. Minimum qualification includes an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) along with 1 to 3 years of relevant experience.
Candidates must hold an OND qualification or It’s equivalent to qualify for this role.
Experience:
Previous experience in cashiering, retail sales, or customer service roles is beneficial, though not essential.
