We are actively recruiting a meticulous and proactive Female Legal Officer to oversee our legal functions and protect the organization’s interests at our Gun State office, in alignment with our current corporate objectives.
Oversee a comprehensive array of critical duties encompassing strategic planning, operational execution, and performance evaluation to ensure organizational objectives are consistently met. Collaborate cross-functionally with leadership teams to align departmental goals with broader company priorities, fostering a cohesive and high-performing work environment. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to optimize workflow efficiency, mitigate risks, and uphold compliance with industry regulations and internal standards. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and generate detailed reports to assess progress, identify trends, and recommend data-driven improvements. Lead and mentor a diverse team by providing clear direction, constructive feedback, and professional development opportunities to cultivate talent and drive collective success. Serve as a liaison between senior management and frontline employees, ensuring transparent communication and alignment on organizational initiatives and cultural values.
Contract Management: Prepare, evaluate, and finalize commercial agreements, vendor contracts, and Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) through drafting, review, and negotiation processes.
Corporate compliance involves maintaining rigorous adherence to all applicable local corporate laws, industry-specific regulations, and statutory obligations to uphold organizational integrity and mitigate legal risks.
Offer expert legal counsel to guide business operations, corporate transactions, and governance matters on a daily basis.
Efficiently manage legal disputes while coordinating with external legal counsel whenever litigation or specialized representation becomes necessary.
Maintain precise corporate documentation, facilitate the organization of board meetings, and manage regulatory submissions.
Proactively assess business units to identify potential legal risks and develop and execute appropriate mitigation strategies.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of three years of professional experience in software development. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++ is essential, and familiarity with web frameworks like Django or Spring is highly desirable. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment are also necessary. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Education requirements include possession of a Bachelor of Laws degree (LL.B.) and subsequent admission to the Nigerian Bar (B.L.).
A minimum of three to five years of post-call experience in corporate law, commercial litigation, or an in-house legal department is required.
The ideal candidate possesses exceptional proficiency in drafting, analytical reasoning, negotiation tactics, and risk-assessment methodologies.
Residing in or willing to relocate to Gun State is a requirement for this position.
