We are actively seeking a meticulous and forward-thinking female legal officer to oversee our legal functions and protect the company’s interests within our office located in Gun State, in alignment with our strategic corporate goals.
Key duties involve overseeing daily project execution to ensure alignment with strategic goals, managing cross-functional teams to facilitate seamless collaboration, and monitoring progress through established KPIs to drive performance improvements. Additionally, the role entails developing and implementing robust operational processes to enhance efficiency, conducting regular performance reviews to assess team productivity, and identifying training needs to support professional growth. The position also requires fostering a culture of accountability by setting clear expectations, addressing performance gaps, and recognizing high achievers to maintain team motivation.
Responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements, vendor contracts, and Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
Ensure meticulous adherence to all relevant local corporate laws, industry regulations, and statutory mandates to uphold organizational integrity and legal conformity.
Offer expert legal guidance to navigate daily business operations, corporate transactions, and governance issues with precision and strategic insight.
Efficiently handle legal disputes and coordinate with external legal counsel as needed for litigation or specialized representation.
Maintain precise corporate documentation, facilitate the organization of board meetings, and oversee regulatory submission processes.
Proactively assess and address potential legal risks across all business units to develop and execute robust mitigation strategies, ensuring proactive risk management and compliance.
The ideal candidate must meet the following criteria and possess the necessary qualifications to excel in this role. A minimum of five years of experience in a related field is required, along with a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Proficiency in industry-specific software and tools is a must, and excellent communication skills are critical for effective stakeholder engagement. Additionally, the candidate should have a proven track record of delivering results and driving continuous improvement.
A Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree is required, along with a successful completion of the Nigerian Bar Call (B.L.).
Minimum qualification includes three to five years of active post-call legal practice, with a focus on corporate law, commercial litigation, or in-house legal advisory roles.
Possesses robust drafting abilities, a keen analytical mindset, adept negotiation capabilities, and a thorough approach to risk assessment.
