University Librarian Bursar

Job Description The Librarian is a Principal Officer of the University responsible for the administration of the University Library and coordination of all library services in the entire University community and reports to the Vice Chancellor. The Person for the position of the librarian The ideal candidate for the position must have drive with strong passion for result and must:

Be below the age of 60 years at the point of assumption of duty;
Have strong leadership and communication skills;
Be creative, proactive and self- motivated;
Have excellent interpersonal skill;
Have integrity and commitment; and
Be in good physical and mental health.

Requirements Candidate for this post shall:

Be professionally qualified and be a practicing Librarian;
Possess a good honours degree and Ph.D. in Library and Information Science from a recognized University with at least fifteen (15) years relevant experience, preferably in a University or other institutions of higher learning at least five (5) of which must be at the Deputy University Librarian level
Have contributed to knowledge through research and publications in reputable journals, as well as possess proven records of sound administrative leadership;
Be registered member of the Library Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN);
Be computer literate and proficient in relevant computer applications;

Condition of Service The condition attached to this position is as generally applicable in Nigerian University System and as may from time to time be determined by the Governing Council. The appointment shall be for a single term of five (5) years.
