Underwriter – Property Facultative

To maintain the highest standard of technical competence in the field of Facultative Underwriting and Pricing with a View to presenting terms to the market via Client Managers (CM) or directly after also keeping CM informed – that will generate the necessary financial returns on business written; Monitor the performance of the Property Fire Porfolio and put forward recommendations to the Underwriting Manager in the
Interests of rehabilitation should it be necessary;
    To maintain a centre of technical competence if”! respect of all aspects of individual risk assessment and underwriting (direct business): retail property market wordings and coverage;
    To find creative, tailor-made facultative reinsurance solution for our customers needs/requirements;
    To be responsible for input and support for technical seminars (reinsurance courses, workshops, etc) as well as equipped to be the speaker at internal and external forums;
    To coordinate submission of referrals to the Underwriting Manager;
    To manage the facultative underwriting processes, systems and credit control checks will also be required to be performed. Quarterly estimate process also form part of the task.
    Travel to markets in sub-Sahara may be requested by the manager.
Requirements
A Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Engineering. ACII/AIISA.
A minimum of 5 years reinsurance experience embracing Property technical pricing/underwriting, product knowledge and policy wording expertise – Personal, Commercial/Corporate and
Assets All Risk/Industrial All Risks policies.
English, French and Portuguese – markets so English and the other one or two would be good.
