Transport Supervisor

Objectives of this Role:

Oversee and manage the company’s transportation operations to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for transportation activities.
Monitor and maintain the company’s fleet, ensuring vehicles are well-maintained and compliant with safety regulations.
Coordinate with internal departments to align transportation schedules with production and sales requirements.
Manage a team of drivers and logistics personnel, providing guidance and performance evaluations.
Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation laws and regulations.
Analyze transportation data to identify areas for improvement and cost reduction.
Sourcing of 3PL trucks to augment the internal careers

Responsibilities:

Transportation Management: Plan and coordinate transportation routes to ensure efficient delivery schedules.
Fleet Management: Oversee the maintenance and servicing of company vehicles, ensuring they are in good working condition.
Team Supervision: Lead and manage a team of drivers and logistics staff, providing training and performance evaluations.
Compliance: Ensure all transportation activities comply with local and international regulations, including safety standards.
Budget Management: Develop and manage the transportation budget, aiming to reduce costs while maintaining service quality.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of transportation activities, including delivery logs and vehicle maintenance reports.
Problem Resolution: Address and resolve any transportation-related issues promptly to minimize disruptions.
Reporting: Provide regular reports on transportation performance, including key performance indicators (KPI) and cost analyses.
Sourcing for 3PL trucks at a reduced cost to support the company fleet of trucks

In-depth knowledge of transportation laws and regulations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and transportation management software.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and implement improvements.

Problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions quickly.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
At least 5 years of experience in transportation management, preferably in a manufacturing or FMCG setting.
Proven experience in fleet management and route optimization.
Strong understanding of budgeting and financial management.
Experience with transportation management software and GPS tracking systems.
Knowledge of customs regulations and international shipping procedures.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required
