Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the company’s fleet’s scheduling, maintenance, and utilization, ensuring vehicles are in good operational condition.
Plan and manage transportation routes and schedules to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
Ensure all transportation activities comply with local, and national regulations, including licensing, permits, and safety standards.
Monitor fuel consumption, maintenance expenses, and overall transport budget to maximize profitability.
Implement and enforce safety policies, conduct regular inspections, and ensure drivers adhere to safety protocols.
Collaborate with clients to ensure smooth delivery operations, promptly address complaints, and resolve transport-related issues.
Use transport management systems (TMS) and other technology to track fleet performance, analyze data, and improve logistics processes.
Negotiate contracts with fuel suppliers, maintenance providers, and insurance companies to optimize operational costs.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role, in a shipping or haulage companyProven experience managing a team of drivers and logistics personnel.
Strong knowledge of transport laws, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
Proficiency in transport management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.
