Job Summary:
We are looking for a Trade Finance Manager to join our team at Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc: The ideal candidate will anchor the Trade Finance and Import documentation of the Treasury Unit. Ensure effective relationship with the Bankers with respect to letters of credit establishment and Importation Finance. This role involves ensuring efficient and effective management of the company’s liquidity, financial risks, and trade finance operations. The Trade Finance Manager will work closely with various departments to support the company’s financial activities and optimize financial performance.
Job Requirements:
Management of trade finance function in a company that deals with imported soft commodities.
At least 10 years trade finance experience.
Experience of handling imports of other inventory items, including spare parts, chemicals.
Well versed in handling international payments with local banks and international banks.
Expert in imported commodities costs build up.
Key Accountabilities:
Technical experience:
Well versed with international trading instruments.
CBN trade finance and international trade regulations.
Technical experience in FX transactions, including multi-currency transactions, FX planning, hedging.
FX accounting is ideal and would be an added advantage.
Experience and knowledge of handling customs and excise processes.
Experience of preparing trade finance process design and documentation.
Commercial experience:
Experience of working with Nigerian banks handling international transactions.
Have existing contacts with local banks trade finance teams.
Ability to liaise with the procurement and production teams to proactively handle scheduling of required imported commodities and components.
Capable of preparing market to market analysis, and hedging analysis would be added advantage.
Able to prepare international trading P&L and economic analysis.
Experience of handling complete trade finance cycles, knowledge of all the trade finance steps, and able to know which complementing functions to work with to deliver trade finance i.e. contacting banks for financing capabilities, liaising with procurement/trade/operations teams about pricing components, and legal teams about contracts and LC transactions.

Qualifications & Experience:
First degree in Accounting/Business Administration/ Economics or any Social Science course or related discipline with MBA or master’s degree with a minimum of 10 years’ experience.
Membership of ICAN, ACCA or any relevant qualification in International Trade Finance will be an added advantage.
Experience of working with FMCGs will be an added advantage.
IT skills:
Excellent MS suite skills, especially Word and Excel.
Experience of using ERP systems, knowledge of using trade applications.
Soft skills:
Good presentation skills
Ability to prepare and write clear instructions in English language to banks and counterparts involved in trade finance and operations process.
