Technology Research and Product Development Lead

JOB SUMMARY

 

The Lead of Research and Product Development with a focus on technology solutions, will drive the continuous improvement of our organization’s performance through innovative ideas, market development, and product diversification strategies. In this role, you will lead a team centred on business growth, providing critical analytical support and ensuring alignment between executive strategies and business units. Your leadership will be crucial in identifying gaps in strategy, conducting industry research, and developing new products that support market penetration and organizational goals.
You will also oversee the development of internal processes to monitor implementation performance and facilitate the assessment of corporate scorecards. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will ensure the integration of business strategies with operational plans while supporting the company in client presentations and strategic partnerships.

Duties include:

Lead the team responsible for the continuous improvement of the organization’s overall performance through the development of ideas and best practices for market development, market penetration, product development and diversification.
Provide analytical support to the organization and business units in the development, implementation and monitoring of growth strategies towards actualizing the overall business goals of the organization.
Provide data and analysis to support business strategy and development.
Maintain the bridge between the Executive Management team and the business units in the implementation of business plans, including the identification of strategy gaps and the measures to close such gaps.
Conduct relevant industry-based research and develop Concept Notes and Business Plans for new markets and products.
Develop appropriate internal processes to monitor implementation, performance and the response of the organization to business growth strategies.
Coordinate the assessment of performance score cards for the organization and business units to ensure the integration of strategies with business plans.
Develop and maintain the internal processes for the weekly, monthly and quarterly quantitative and qualitative assessment of the corporate score card.
Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary internal teams and keep abreast of their business environments.
Support the organization and business units in developing and drafting contents for presentations, reports and correspondences.
Support the organization in making client presentations in business development related engagements.
Build strategic partnerships in private and public sectors.
Perform other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Executive Management Team

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Economics, Information Technology, or related.
8 years or more in a managerial or leadership role.
Proven leadership experience, with at least 3-5 years managing teams focused on business growth, product ideation, and market strategy.
A strong understanding of technology product development and project management methodologies.
Strong background in market development, penetration, and diversification, with a focus on driving new products to market.
Analytical skills to support strategic business decisions, including experience in conducting industry research, analysing performance metrics, and developing business plans.
Experience collaborating with executive management and aligning business units with corporate strategies.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and deliver results in a dynamic environment.
Ability to build strategic partnerships across private and public sectors.
Ability to work with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on driving innovation and staying ahead of technological trends.
