Job Summary
To execute set sales strategy in line with organizational strategy and culture, and also conceptualize creative and result-driven methods to enhance the execution of the strategy through the generation and maintenance of new and existing clients respectively.
The technical sales associate would therefore be regarded as a strategic partner of the company by aggressively and passionately maintaining great sales relationships with existing and in-progress clients and generating new clients for the company; our clients are mostly corporates, and fewer individual clients.
The job requires a strategic mindset; success relies heavily on relationship building and consultative selling, therefore a background in engineering is mandatory.
Since our products/services are largely specialized, selling cycles are usually a bit long and decision making involves multiple stakeholders, the sales executive is therefore required to be a natural, dogged and self-motivated sales person, who can work around the clock to achieve his or her sales target.
The nature of the job is both thought and activity oriented. It is a salary-based job, but with a commission-based element and allowances to help drive sales efforts.
Drive to succeed in sales as a profession is highly required for the position, as well as the ability to be a great team player.
Duties and Responsibilities Key duties and responsibilities include:
Effective follow-up of in-progress sales deals and clients from the Sales Manager, to ensure deals are closed in reasonable time.
Researching and identifying sales opportunities, generating leads, target identification and classification.
Reaching out to new customers and making presentations or pitches outlining the benefits of product/ services.
Maintaining good relationships with all potential and existing clients to ensure repeat sales/services.
Effective data keeping and database management.
Working together with other sales team members to achieve the corporate goal.
Qualifications Qualifications for the job are:
Minimum of B.Sc, First class or Second class upper division only, in Elect/Elect Engineering or other Engineering courses (so they already know about basic electricity etc.)
Key Skills & Abilities: Excellent communication skills, Strong interpersonal skills, Ability to understand client’s needs and present solutions.
Personal characteristics: A passionate, dogged, self-driven, result-thirsty, optimistic, high achiever. Must have the drive for a career in sales, and great physical grooming skills.
Experience: Fresh graduates, or engineering graduates who have worked for not more than 2 years in sales areas such as engineering, power systems, insurance, banking and automobiles.
