Technical Manager Fabrication Specialist Engineer

Job Purpose

The Technical Manager oversees and directs all technical aspects of EPCIC projects within the oil and gas industry.
This role ensures the successful delivery of engineering solutions, compliance with industry standards, and alignment with client expectations. The position involves technical leadership, cross-functional coordination, and optimizing project performance across all phases, from design to commissioning.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership:

 Lead multi disciplinary engineering teams for upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas projects.
Ensure technical deliverables, including process design, piping, structural, instrumentation, and electrical systems, meet project requirements and industry standards.
Develop innovative solutions to technical challenges in offshore platforms, subsea systems, pipelines, and onshore facilities.
Review and approve engineering drawings, calculations, specifications, and other technical documentation.

Project Execution Support:

Define and implement technical strategies for efficient project execution during the engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning phases.
Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for technical and operational challenges.
Ensure alignment between engineering, procurement, and construction teams to meet project deadlines and budgets.

Regulatory Compliance and Quality:

Ensure compliance with industry regulations and codes such as API,ASME, ISO, DNV, andABS standards.
Facilitate technical audits, HAZOP, HAZID, SIL studies, and constructability reviews.
Drive quality assurance programs to ensure flawless engineering and operational excellence.

Stakeholder Coordination:

Act as the technical focal point for clients, vendors, subcontractors, and certification bodies.
Support procurement teams in developing specificatitions for long-lead items like compressors commissioning activities.
Team Development and Knowledge Sharing;
Mentor and train engineering teams, fostering expertise in oil and gas EPCIC operations.
Promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, and safety within the technical team.
Lead initiatives for process optimization and technical improvements across the organization.

Qualifications and Experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Process, Civil, Electrical, or related field). A master’s degree is a plus.

Experience:

10 years of experience in oil and gas projects, with at least 5 years in a technical leadership role within an EPCIC environment.
Strong track record of delivering offshore and onshore oil and gas projects.

Certifications:

Professional Engineer (PE), Chartered Engineer (CEng), or equivalent.
A certifying Engineer who shall be chartered, registered, or licensed in accordance with the international
Register of Professional Engineers by an authorized
member of the International Professional Engineers
Agreement (IPEA) is preferred
PMP certification or equivalent project management training is an advantage.
Knowledge: Familiarity with offshore standards (DNV, ABS, API), subsea systems, and FPSO operations is essential.

Key Skills and Competencies:

Comprehensive knowledge of EPCIC processes in oil and gas, including offshore platforms, subsea systems, and onshore facilities.
Expertise in engineering disciplines such as process, mechanical, piping, civil, electrical, and instrumentation engineering.
Strong understanding of oil and gas production processes, including separation, compression, transportation, and refining.
Proven ability to manage complex technical challenges and align multidisciplinary teams.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
