Tax Senior Analyst

Job Summary

The Senior Tax Analyst prepares tax returns and work papers with minimal supervision and provides assistance to other team members on various projects.
Reporting to: Senior Tax Manager responsible for the Region.

Responsibilities

Corporate tax compliance – Assist with data accumulation required for the preparation of the corporate income tax returns and all related filings, where not prepared in-house, to ensure their accurate and timely submission; assist with the preparation and maintenance of all supporting workpapers and calculations such as Tax Fixed Asset Registers, Corporate Interest Restriction and Thin Capitalisation calculations; assist with the calculation and monitoring of tax payments and preparation of the cash tax forecast; assisting with local Tax Authorities enquiries. Ensure local Tax Legislation is complied with, and processes are updated as required
US Group Reporting – Assist with the preparation of the EMEA Tax Package for quarter-end reporting and forecasting purposes, including current and deferred tax provisioning for US GAAP requirements, preparation of tax account reconciliations. Working with US Tax team and our external auditors
Local GAAP Reporting – Assist with the preparation of the local tax accounting calculations with supporting workpapers, for inclusion in the local GAAP statutory accounts, including current and deferred taxes and any prior year adjustments. Working with local advisors and external auditors as required
Withholding taxes – Assist with the fulfilment of withholding tax compliance and reporting obligations
Project work – Providing support on corporate tax projects (i.e. Tax Depreciation planning, thin capitalization analysis and planning; tax automation projects; improving reporting/compliance processes; assisting in the integration of acquired entities into the existing Equinix processes;)
Work closely with other departments to gather information and assist in requests
Continued Education – continues to develop and apply technical expertise and stay current on tax issues
Any other duties as assigned as part of this job role

Qualifications

Proven years of progressive working experience with BIG 4 and/or corporate tax department is preferred
Experience with financial statements under IFRS and local GAAP preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation preferred
CPA/Chartered Accountant/Equivalent certification preferred
Extensive experience in EMEA corporate income tax compliance preferred
Sufficient knowledge of Corporate income tax laws and regulations related to multi-national corporations
Demonstrated technical strength and knowledge related to Corporate Income tax accounting and Corporate Income tax reporting
Self-starter with strong accounting, analytical, time management and project management skills
Ability to recognize, understand, and analyze complex issues with excellent communication and writing skills
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management in an organization
Must be well-organized, hands-on, detail-oriented and able to work independently and as part of a team
Proficient computer skills including strong working knowledge of Excel required and Oracle ERP/EPM Cloud systems
French language skills will be an added advantage
