Support / Field Engineer

Qulaifications

Candidates should possess an HND, B.Sc or B.Tech with 3 – 10 years work experience.
An Adult male not older than 35 years.

Requirements / Skills:

TCP/IP Fundamentals: Understanding IPv4, IPv6, subnetting, and routing.
Wireless Networking: Experience with 802.11 standards, point-to-point (PTP), and point-to-multipoint (PTMP) networks.
Fiber Optics & Cable Management: Fiber splicing, FTTH (Fiber to the Home), GPON, and structured cabling.
MikroTik, Cisco, & Juniper: Configuring routers and switches.
Network Monitoring Tools: Using Nagios, PRTG, or the Dude.
VoIP & Telephony: Setting up and troubleshooting SIP, PBX systems, and VoIP configurations.
Diagnosing Network Issues: Using traceroute, ping, and other diagnostics tools.
Hardware Installation & Configuration: Setting up antennas, access points, routers, and switches.
Service Deployment: Installing and configuring broadband, fiber, and wireless connections for customers.
Remote Support Tools: Using SSH, TeamViewer, RDP, and other remote troubleshooting methods.

Soft Skills:

Problem-Solving: Quickly identifying and resolving network and customer issues.
Communication Skills: Explaining technical issues to non-technical customers.
Time Management: Handling multiple service requests efficiently.
Teamwork: Coordinating with the NOC team, field engineers, and management.
Customer Service: Ensuring a positive experience for clients during installation and troubleshooting.
Adaptability: Learning new network technologies and adapting to different environments.
Attention to Detail: Ensuring proper network configurations and minimizing errors.
Physical Endurance & Safety Awareness: Working on-site, handling network hardware, and following safety protocols.
Crisis Management: Handling high-pressure situations like network outages professionally.
Technical Documentation: Writing installation guides, troubleshooting reports, and SOPs.
