Studio and Equipment Manager

Job Description

Pulse is looking for a Studio and Equipment Manager to join the team. The Studio and Equipment Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of a creative or production studio, ensuring that all equipment and facilities are well-maintained, functional, and available for use. This role involves managing inventory, coordinating equipment maintenance, supporting production teams, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Studio Management

Oversee the daily operations of the studio, ensuring it is well-organized and ready for use.
Manage studio bookings, schedules, and space allocation for different teams.
Ensure a safe and efficient working environment by implementing and enforcing studio policies.
Maintain studio cleanliness, organization, and functionality.

Equipment Management

Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all studio equipment, including cameras, lighting, audio gear, and other production tools.
Oversee the maintenance, repair, and replacement of equipment as needed.
Ensure that all equipment is properly stored, handled, and maintained to extend its lifespan.
Conduct routine equipment inspections and troubleshoot technical issues.
Stay up to date with emerging technologies and recommend new equipment purchases.

Technical Support & Operations

Provide technical support to production teams, photographers, videographers, and creatives using the studio.
Set up and test equipment before shoots or recordings.
Train staff and users on proper equipment handling and safety protocols.
Assist in live productions, recordings, or broadcast operations when required.

Budgeting & Procurement

Manage the studio and equipment budget, ensuring cost-effective maintenance and procurement.
Source and purchase new equipment as needed while keeping within budget constraints.
Negotiate with vendors and service providers for repairs and new acquisitions.

Compliance & Safety

Ensure the studio complies with health and safety regulations.
Establish and enforce safety protocols for equipment use.
Train users on proper handling of studio equipment to prevent damage or injury.

Collaboration & Coordination

Work closely with production teams, photographers, videographers, and designers to ensure smooth operations.
Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, or technicians when necessary.
Liaise with management to report on studio and equipment status and suggest improvements.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Media Production, Film, Photography, Sound Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory).
Proven experience in managing a studio or handling professional equipment.
Strong technical knowledge of photography, video, and audio equipment.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of studio safety regulations and best practices.
