Job Summary
The Structural Engineer is responsible for designing, analyzing, and ensuring the integrity and safety of structures, including buildings, bridges, and infrastructure projects.
This role involves working closely with architects, contractors, and project managers to develop cost-effective and durable structural solutions that comply with regulatory standards and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Structural Design & Analysis: Develop safe, efficient, and cost-effective structural designs using engineering principles and industry standards.
Project Assessment: Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and site investigations to determine project requirements.
Material Selection: Recommend appropriate construction materials and structural components based on durability, load requirements, and cost efficiency.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs meet local and international building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
Construction Supervision: Provide technical oversight during construction to ensure structural integrity and adherence to design specifications.
Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work closely with architects, contractors, and other engineers to ensure seamless project execution.
Structural Calculations: Perform load calculations, stress analysis, and simulations to predict structural performance.
Technical Documentation: Prepare detailed engineering reports, blueprints, and technical drawings.
Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting: Identify structural issues, propose modifications, and provide engineering solutions as needed.
Quality Control & Inspections: Conduct site inspections to monitor project progress, address construction challenges, and verify compliance with design requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification (if required by jurisdiction).
Minimum 1 year of experience in structural design and analysis.
Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, SAP2000, ETABS, and Revit.
Strong understanding of structural mechanics, materials science, and geotechnical engineering.
Knowledge of relevant building codes and standards (e.g., Eurocodes, ACI, AISC, BS).
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a team environment.
Strong communication and technical writing skills.
