Job location:
Adikpo, Benue state with frequent travel to field locations in the Cross River States.
Reporting to:
Head of Mission
MAIN DUTIES
 Generic Responsibilities

Ensure  that the beneficiaries and community are involved in the project implementation
Conduct regular meetings with community members to discuss program objectives, and mobilize the community participation and act as a mentor throughout the planning and implementation processes.
Routinely monitor the projects activities and feedback findings to the community members and other stakeholders
Responsible for generating weekly action plan
Participate in the selection of beneficiaries and training for beneficiaries
Performs any other duties as requested by the supervisor

Specific ResponsibilitiesThe Shelter Assistant is expected to achieve the following during this contract period:

Work with his line manager to ensure volunteer and construction schedule is accurate and achievable.
Ensure timely delivery of construction materials.
Supervise the construction of shelter and other infrastructure are in line with the approved design and bill of quantities.
Responsible for training and on job coaching carpenters and IDPs participating in the construction
Perform other duties as required by program needs and requested byline manager.
Timely reporting, on a weekly and monthly basis, (identifying gaps, risks and bottlenecks that can obstruct proper implementation of activities)

Qualifications/Skills Required

Completion of university degree in database, humanities, social studies, or another relevant degree
Minimum one years of experience in international and/or local NGO; ideally involved in the direct implementation of field level humanitarian assistance to refugees or IDPs.
Experience in community services, women empowerment, youth activities, protection, distribution or registration

Preferred experience:

Proficiency in English and local language, both oral and written.
Preferable experience operating in a refugee/IDP camp environment.
