As Group Legal Counsel within the East & North Africa legal team, you will provide strategic leadership and guidance on legal matters spanning designated territories, covering commercial contracts, corporate and regulatory compliance, data protection, competition law, intellectual property, sanctions and trade controls, as well as dispute resolution. You will collaborate extensively with business leaders and legal counterparts to manage high-value engagements involving customer and supplier agreements, strategic alliances, corporate transactions, governance frameworks, and advisory services.

You will join the legal team for the Customer Unit East & North Africa, reporting directly to the Head of Legal for the region, and will be stationed in one of the territories within this geographic area.

What You’ll Do

Serve as a reliable legal advisor, offering practical and strategic counsel to advance business goals and facilitate successful transaction completion.

Spearhead negotiations for intricate agreements involving customers, suppliers, and strategic partners, providing guidance and support throughout the process.

Identify, evaluate, and address potential legal and operational risks to foster sustainable growth and facilitate organizational transformation.

Provide guidance on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, competition law, data protection, intellectual property, and trade control issues.

Cultivate robust connections among diverse business units, functional teams, and global offices to promote seamless collaboration and open communication.

Facilitate capability development by providing coaching, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing opportunities, as well as implementing best-practice initiatives.

Foster an inclusive, high-performing, and collaborative team environment where every member thrives and contributes to collective success.

What You’ll Bring

A highly experienced attorney with a minimum of seven years of practice, having worked in a prestigious law firm or a multinational corporate legal department.

Proven expertise in commercial, corporate, regulatory, and compliance matters across diverse industries and legal landscapes is essential.

Demonstrated expertise in managing intricate contractual agreements, facilitating high-level negotiations, and overseeing international business operations.

Proven expertise in business strategy combined with a keen ability to assess and mitigate legal risks while advancing commercial goals.

Proven ability to communicate effectively, negotiate with confidence, and manage stakeholder relationships proficiently.

Capable of operating autonomously while effectively engaging and persuading key decision-makers across varied organizational settings.

Experience in the technology or telecommunications industry is highly desirable.

A demonstrated dedication to continuous learning, sound decision-making, ethical conduct, and ensuring exceptional legal support services.
