Sea learn is in search of an accomplished and seasoned Senior Lecturer in Maritime Studies to enhance our esteemed faculty. The preferred candidate will demonstrate exceptional academic qualifications and extensive hands-on experience in the maritime industry. This position encompasses a range of responsibilities, including but not limited to instruction, curriculum design, as well as the development and execution of engaging educational programs.

Through simulation exercises, practical applications, and ongoing research, the role involves mentoring and fostering both academic excellence and professional development within the institution.

Oversee a broad range of critical duties encompassing strategic planning, operational execution, and performance evaluation, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and frameworks to enhance efficiency, compliance, and risk management across departments. Lead cross-functional teams to drive project completion, foster collaboration, and achieve measurable results within specified timelines. Monitor key performance indicators, analyze data trends, and provide actionable insights to senior leadership to inform decision-making. Serve as a primary liaison with stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and regulatory bodies, to maintain strong relationships and uphold contractual obligations. Ensure adherence to industry standards, legal requirements, and internal governance while promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Develop, assess, and revise curriculum content to ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks such as IMO/STCW and alignment with evolving industry standards.

Develop comprehensive course materials—such as presentations, simulation exercises, and realistic mockups—while incorporating pedagogical principles to ensure the effective delivery of knowledge and skill development to learners.

Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and hands-on training sessions across key maritime disciplines, including navigation, marine engineering, maritime safety, cargo operations, repair and maintenance, commercial operations, and environmental protection, ensuring high-quality instruction and practical application.

We will evaluate and guide the development of courseware created by junior faculty, offering constructive feedback and support to facilitate their enhancement.

Provide guidance and oversight for student initiatives, including projects, dissertations, and evaluations.

Conduct in-depth research and produce scholarly articles for esteemed maritime journals and publications. Additionally, deliver compelling presentations at prestigious seminars and conferences to elevate Sea Learn’s standing within the industry.

Offer mentorship and academic support to junior faculty members and students, fostering their professional and intellectual growth.

Engage in internal committees, contribute to quality assurance initiatives, and support accreditation-related activities.

Work collaboratively with key maritime industry stakeholders and regulatory authorities to improve the alignment of training programs with evolving industry needs and enhance graduate employability.

Play a key role in designing, implementing, and overseeing CPD (Continuing Professional Development) programs to ensure their effective delivery.

Seeking a candidate with a robust professional background and relevant qualifications to fulfill this role effectively. A master’s degree or PhD in Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering, Nautical Science, or a closely related discipline is highly desirable.

Holds a valid certificate from an Administration-approved Train the Trainer program, demonstrating proficiency in instructional techniques and training methodologies.

The Simulator Trainer program encompasses the course on Assessment, Examination, and Certification of Seafarers.

A minimum of two decades of professional experience is required in maritime education, seagoing operations, or shore-based maritime industry positions.

Possesses a comprehensive grasp of international maritime regulations, with particular expertise in STCW standards. Brings extensive experience in curriculum design and instructional delivery at the tertiary education level.

Ideally, the candidate will have completed an instructional design training program.

Proficiency in academic research or industry-focused projects is highly desirable.
