The position entails overseeing a broad range of responsibilities designed to drive operational excellence and strategic alignment within the organization. Core duties include managing cross-functional teams, executing initiatives to enhance efficiency, and ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures. Additionally, the role requires collaboration with senior leadership to develop and implement business strategies that foster growth and sustainability. The ideal candidate will possess proven experience in leadership, a strong analytical mindset, and the ability to adapt to dynamic business environments while delivering measurable results.
As a Senior IT Support Engineer, your primary responsibility will involve safeguarding the technical integrity, regulatory compliance, and operational resilience of Bamboo’s platforms, which underpin money movement and value exchange. Leveraging your extensive expertise in systems architecture, access governance, and compliance frameworks, you will evaluate existing networks, enhance internal processes, proactively address operational risks, and cultivate a highly reliable, compliant infrastructure. In this senior individual contributor role, you will provide leadership in technical compliance specifications, collaborate across teams, and ensure the secure and efficient scaling of our systems. Your contributions will be pivotal in driving critical risk-mitigation and compliance initiatives, serving as a technical force multiplier by executing high-impact implementations while aligning technical delivery with data governance standards, stringent regulatory requirements, and platform availability objectives.
What you will be doing:
Collaborate closely with engineering, Legal, and Compliance teams throughout Bamboo to define projects, establish technical specifications, and oversee progress as we scale internal systems and products.
Design, develop, deploy, and rigorously assess Identity and Access Management (IAM), endpoint management (MDM), and zero-trust architectures to safeguard the organization’s critical data and customer assets.
Proactively monitor systems, plan capacity strategically, and maintain system integrity to uphold a 99.9% uptime across all critical services, safeguarding technical compliance and access controls against scalability challenges.
To remain at the forefront of industry developments, monitor evolving operational breach reports, global cybersecurity trends, and newly identified attack vectors. Conduct in-depth analyses of these insights to design proactive mitigation strategies and enhance system security measures.
Conduct comprehensive incident response initiatives for internal anomalies or technical compliance breaches, performing in-depth root-cause analysis and post-mortem assessments to systematically strengthen infrastructure resilience.
Maintain and manage compliance-focused tooling—including SIEM platforms, network traffic analyzers, and access gateways—to ensure all internal configurations adhere to SOC 2, ISO 27001, and applicable local data protection regulations.
Actively guide junior and mid-level IT engineers by sharing expertise, developing policies, and conducting detailed process evaluations to enhance team performance, all while avoiding formal management oversight.
Conduct regular system maintenance tasks—including credential rotation, vulnerability scanning, and phishing simulations—to proactively enhance system cleanliness, reduce technical debt, and fortify defenses against external threats.
Safely incorporate AI-driven technologies into your daily compliance auditing and log-monitoring processes to enhance anomaly detection capabilities, thereby supporting the broader IT team with more efficient practices while ensuring all AI-supported operations fully comply with Bamboo’s stringent data sovereignty and privacy standards.
Guarantee full compliance of all technical operations with relevant regulatory standards, including GDPR, HIPAA, and Fintech regulations.
Perform routine evaluations of potential risks and oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BCDR) strategies.
Formulate, implement, and maintain comprehensive IT policies that encompass Access Control and Data Privacy standards across the entire organization.
Oversee lifecycle management, inventory governance, and secure provisioning of IT assets while providing troubleshooting and remediation across endpoints, systems, and compliance tools.
