Summary:
The Senior Human Resources Manager leads and manages the overall provision of Human Resources services, policies, and programs on a corporate level for all eHealth Africa country worksite locations. S/he serves as a strategic partner, aligning business objectives with employees and management throughout the organization. Leads the Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes quality, productivity, and ongoing development of a superior workforce.
Develops short and long term HR strategies and measures success of these strategies.
Develops and lead HR professionals and supports a development plan for the entire HR team
Provides strategic HR support and training to the cross country HR Management team and eHealth Senior Managers, including employee relations matters, recruitment, and performance management.
Provides advice on Human Resources practices and strategies to the HR Management team and their assigned countries throughout Africa.
Leads effective communication efforts with HR Management team, Senior Managers, and staff. Ensures the organisation is communicating effectively and consistently at all times to staff. Supports the organisation’s communication style, language and messaging to staff to instill the organisational culture consistently throughout the organisation and all country locations. Proactively communicates change and serves as a key change agent for eHealth.

Keeps the organisation in compliance with all respective countries’ governmental regulations.
Oversees and coordinates the development and modification of cross country personnel policies and procedures; and employee handbooks.—
May maintain involvement with new country worksites for extended periods to develop policies, processes and procedures, conduct training, and handle employee relations issues.
Oversees all cross country human resources budgets and the preparation of reports required by corporate office.
Provides strategic oversight and management of the human resources information systems and ensures effective, efficient, and accurate data accumulation, processing and retrieval. Provides direction to country HR Managers on business information reporting needs and ensures data integrity and timely reporting to corporate office.
Provides strategic recruiting oversight and ensures candidates fit the role and company culture. Knows current labour supply and complement of available labour force. May also do interviewing, if needed.
May assist international employees with expatriate assignments and related HR matters.
Recommends and reviews contract terms for new hires, promotions, transfers.
Designs, develops, implements, and monitors all corporate organisation employee compensation and benefits policies, practices, and programs.
Implements and annually updates corporate compensation program; and rewrites job descriptions as necessary; conducts annual salary surveys to keep the wage and salary structure equitable with comparable firms in the community or industry; analyzes compensation; monitors performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
Oversees consistent corporate country plans for health education and wellness programs to meet organisation goals and employee needs—
Identifies corporate training needs of the organisation and ensures consistency of trainings. Develops and provides training. May include managerial development and vocational training. Evaluates and monitors success of training programs. Ensures training objectives are met. May contract and coordinate outside training services.
Oversees workers’ compensation claim system, the medical management and return to work program, and the safety program for employees in all countries. Ensures consistencies of program processes across countries and compliance with all local country regulations.
Frequent travel between company worksites within Nigeria and other West African countries estimated to be 25-50% of the time, depending on business needs; may include some international travel.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organisation’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Directly supervises employees holding positions of: Country HR Managers. Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to successfully perform this job.
Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree from college or university in Business, Human Resources or related field. Master’s degree is highly desirable.
Minimum of ten years + of HR generalist functional experience in employment law and compliance; employee relations; compensation; talent acquisition and development; performance management; HRIS; compensation and benefits; and workforce and succession planning.
Minimum of five years + leadership experience managing individuals, teams & complex projects

Certifications and Licenses
Senior Human Resources Professional (SPHR) is required
Computer Skills
Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Suite.
Proficiency working within specialized software utilized in program.
Language Ability
English is the spoken and written language.
Ability to read, analyse, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, or government regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees and the general public.
Preferred: Basic French language skills
Math Ability
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
