The Settlement & Financial Institutions Control Officer ensures independent oversight and assurance for settlement operations, dispute management, financial institutions operations, and associated transaction processing activities.

This position is responsible for maintaining the precision, reliability, and adherence to regulations in transaction processing, settlement reporting, dispute resolution, and onboarding operations for both banking and non-banking financial institutions, while concurrently reducing operational, financial, and regulatory risks.

Oversee the management of daily operations to ensure seamless workflow and adherence to established protocols; develop and implement strategic plans to enhance productivity and efficiency within the team; collaborate with cross-functional departments to align objectives and drive organizational growth; monitor performance metrics and provide data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement; conduct regular evaluations to assess team competencies and identify training needs; maintain compliance with industry regulations and internal policies; foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and teamwork among staff members; serve as a primary liaison between senior management and operational teams to facilitate clear communication and decision-making.

Oversee and evaluate settlement, reconciliation, and transaction processing operations across both domestic and international payment networks.

Oversee control mechanisms for dispute and chargeback management procedures spanning various card networks and payment systems.

Examine transaction files, settlement reports, and operational extracts to confirm they are both complete and accurate.

Monitor settlement exceptions, unresolved items, and financial exposures to ensure prompt escalation and resolution.

Ensure adherence to internal controls, regulatory mandates, scheme guidelines, and established operational procedures.

Conduct comprehensive assessments of onboarding and operational procedures within financial institutions and other regulated organizations to verify compliance with authorization standards and documentation requirements.

Perform comprehensive control reviews spanning transaction processing, switching, transfer, PSA, and other fintech-related operations.

Evaluate existing operational workflows to identify opportunities for enhancement, then propose strategic improvements aimed at reinforcing controls and increasing overall operational efficiency.

Work collaboratively with Operations, Technology, Product, and Business teams to guarantee secure and compliant service delivery.

Facilitate audit processes, regulatory evaluations, and compliance documentation to ensure adherence to established standards and requirements.

Compile recurring control, governance, and exception reports for review by management on a periodic basis.

As a candidate for this position, you must meet the following prerequisites: a minimum of five years of hands-on experience in a related field, proficiency in [specific software/tools], and the ability to demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
