About the MNH-ASSIST Project
The MPH-ASSIST project is designed to enhance the consistent availability, accessibility, utilization, monitoring, and reporting of maternal and newborn health (MNH) bundle commodities across supported healthcare facilities. This objective will be pursued through strategic partnerships with multiple Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDS), including the Smog, Spicas, DMA/CMS, and health facilities, as well as collaborating organizations such as FIELD Intelligence, C4SD, CEPAP, TA Connect, Scalar, and CHAI. The project’s sustainable outcomes include optimizing last-mile delivery (LMD) of MNH commodities to facilities, strengthening states’ abilities to plan, finance, and implement LMD operations, digitalizing state-level logistics management information systems (LUIS) to enable real-time tracking of logistics data, implementing consumption-driven forecasting and quantification for MNH bundle commodities, and reinforcing drug revolving fund (DRF) programs to ensure the continuous replenishment of essential MNH supplies.
The initiative is designed to ensure beneficiaries can affordably access these bundled Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (MNCH) services by utilizing established government and donor-supported financing frameworks that shield women and their families from financial hardships. These frameworks encompass national and state health insurance programs, complimentary or subsidized MNCH services incorporated into the BHCPF 2.0 and HOPE-PHC initiatives, as well as state-level free MNCH programs where applicable.
