Overview
The Senior Engineer – Material Handling is responsible for conducting comprehensive piping material handling studies for Offshore Compressor Fixed Platform projects, specifically for our client.
This role focuses on optimizing the layout and handling of piping systems to ensure ease of maintenance, safety, and operational efficiency.
The candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, evaluate vendor offerings, and support material handling processes.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct piping material handling studies, ensuring optimal layout and handling solutions for offshore compressor fixed platforms.
Focus on maintainability, ensuring that all designs and systems support easy access, operation, and maintenance in an offshore environment.
Evaluate and select suitable handling tools, equipment, and vendor proposals for pipe supporting activities.
Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure material handling considerations are integrated into the project.
Perform technical reviews and assessments of vendor equipment, ensuring compliance with project and industry standards.
Provide technical input for material handling strategies and procedures, ensuring alignment with client specifications and safety regulations.
Participate in design reviews and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential material handling issues.
Prepare and maintain project documentation, including material handling plans, specifications, and reports.
Job Requirements
Education:
Engineering Degree (Mechanical or relevant discipline).
Certifications / Specialization / IT Skills:
Specialization in piping material handling for oil & gas or offshore fixed platform projects is required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is essential.
Experience:
Minimum of 12 years of experience in piping material handling studies for offshore fixed platforms.
Technical Knowledge:
Strong knowledge and experience (minimum 12 years) in handling and layout design with a focus on maintainability of offshore fixed facilities.
Expertise in evaluating handling tools and vendors, especially in pipe supporting activities, is required.
