Job Details

Key Relationships

Head of Strategy & Transformation — in this leadership role, you will manage a team, establish key transformation priorities, and oversee the portfolio to drive strategic initiatives forward.

BU Managing Directors and initiative sponsors serve as the primary collaborators on active initiatives, with the position functioning as the Chief Executive Officer’s operational counterpart within business unit–owned projects.

The initiative leads and workstream owners serve as the primary operational counterparts, driving and overseeing the delivery of the BU initiative on a daily basis.

As the Group CEO, you will be responsible for producing regular reports on the progress of the transformation portfolio and escalating issues that are truly at an impasse.

Colleagues on the strategy team bridge the gap between strategic vision and the practical execution of transformation initiatives.

Core responsibilities involve overseeing key operational tasks, ensuring adherence to organizational policies, and maintaining efficient workflow processes. The role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to prioritize competing demands. Additionally, the position entails collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive project completion, monitoring performance metrics, and identifying opportunities for process improvements. Effective communication and leadership are essential to align team efforts with strategic objectives and foster a productive work environment.

Own the execution discipline for a select group of CEO-prioritized transformation initiatives owned by business units. Structure each initiative into actionable workstreams, define clear milestones, and implement a consistent tracking cadence. Proactively identify and address execution bottlenecks as they arise, ensuring timely resolution. While accountability for initiative ownership remains with the business unit, you will be responsible for upholding the quality and pace of execution discipline throughout the process.

Problem-solving and solution design are central to this role, where the professional identifies the underlying causes—whether related to capability, resources, politics, or design—when a project encounters obstacles. They then collaborate with business unit counterparts to develop a feasible path forward. This requires consulting-grade problem structuring, applied within an operational setting where the individual lacks positional authority and cannot merely suggest solutions—they must execute and deliver results.

Engagement and accountability with business units require close collaboration with initiative leads and sponsors to sustain progress. This role involves ensuring BU counterparts adhere to agreed-upon timelines, deliver required data, and allocate necessary resources, intervening only after all internal efforts have been fully explored. Success in this position is measured by the caliber of contributions and the soundness of decision-making rather than positional authority.

The role involves overseeing and documenting the progress of the transformation portfolio with transparency and accuracy, identifying initiatives that are progressing as planned, those that require intervention, and those that may need to be paused or terminated. You will compile and deliver portfolio updates for the Head of Strategy & Transformation as well as during executive-level presentations. A key expectation is to proactively highlight issues with clarity and honesty, avoiding overly optimistic assessments.

Drive transformation through tailored methodologies and tools, adapting structured approaches—such as initiative charters, milestone frameworks, risk and dependency tracking, and benefits realization—to align with ARM’s operational environment. Prioritize efficiency by selecting frameworks that expedite delivery rather than those generating excessive documentation.

Transfer capabilities. Develop and embed transformation execution expertise within business unit teams over time. The ultimate indicator of success is not the indispensability of the role holder, but rather the extent to which BU teams demonstrate enhanced proficiency in implementing change following collaboration with them.

Demonstrated achievements serve as the benchmark for evaluating performance, ensuring all objectives are fully met. Key performance indicators must be clearly defined to assess whether project goals, targets, and deliverables have been accomplished to the required standards. The evaluation process will prioritize measurable outcomes, ensuring accountability and alignment with organizational expectations. Continuous monitoring and feedback mechanisms will be implemented to track progress, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions as needed. Ultimately, the success criteria will be used to validate the effectiveness of efforts and drive continuous improvement across all initiatives.

At the twelve-month mark, the position requires the individual to have demonstrated proficiency in the following areas:

Achieved significant, quantifiable advancements across every CEO-driven transformation initiative, as verified by business unit sponsors who endorsed the excellence of the execution support provided.

Developed and implemented a robust transformation portfolio tracking and reporting framework, which was officially endorsed by both the Head of Strategy & Transformation and the CEO.

Earned recognition from BU MDs and initiative sponsors as a trusted execution partner, demonstrated by the quality of BU engagement rather than the sheer volume of deliverables completed.

Established a productive collaboration with the Transformation Analyst, facilitating the delegation of workstream-level tasks for efficient execution.
