Senior CX UX UI Designer

Job Overview:

The Senior CX UX UI Designer is a strategic and hands-on role responsible for shaping the entire design lifecycle, from concept to final UI development handoff. This individual leads the design and implementation of Customer Experience (CX), User Experience (UX), and User Interface (UI), ensuring a cohesive, user-centered approach. This role requires a deep understanding of user behavior and design principles to create seamless, visually compelling interfaces that elevate the customer journey, improve satisfaction, and drive retention. Working closely with product, sales, marketing, and development teams, this senior Designer ensures that designs are innovative, brand-aligned, and meet business goals, while fostering a collaborative design culture and mentoring junior team members.

Core Responsibilities:

Leads the design and implementation of Customer Experience (CX), User Experience (UX), and User Interface (UI); oversees end-to-end design processes from research to final UI development handoff.
CX Focus: Analyzes customer journey to identify pain points and areas of improvement; develops strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and retention through intuitive design and seamless interactions.
UX Focus: Conducts user research and usability testing to create user flows, personas, and wireframes; ensures designs align with user needs and behaviors for a seamless, enjoyable user experience.
UI Focus: Designs visually appealing interfaces that align with brand guidelines; creates design components, prototypes, and style guides to ensure consistency across platforms and devices.
KPI and Success Metrics: Measures success through user engagement metrics, task completion rates, customer satisfaction scores, and usability test outcomes; tracks improvements based on design changes and optimizations.
Research & Analysis: Leads user research, including surveys, interviews, and competitive analysis; uses insights to inform design decisions, ensuring solutions are data-driven and user-centered.
User Journey Mapping: Develops comprehensive user journey maps to identify key touchpoints, emotions, and interactions; aligns design with user motivations and business objectives for optimal experience flows.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Works closely with product managers, developers, marketing, and customer success teams to ensure designs meet business and user needs; acts as a liaison between design and other departments.
Prototyping & Wireframing: Creates low-to-high fidelity wireframes and interactive prototypes to illustrate and test user flows and interface interactions; iterates based on feedback from stakeholders and users.
Usability Testing & Iteration: Conducts usability tests to validate design decisions and improve functionality; incorporates feedback to refine prototypes and ensure user-friendly experiences.
Design Systems & Style Guides: Develops and maintains design systems, components, and style guides; ensures UI consistency, scalability, and brand alignment across all products.
Visual Design & Branding: Ensures designs are visually cohesive and brand-aligned; includes typography, color schemes, iconography, and other visual elements that enhance user interface appeal and usability.
Accessibility: Prioritizes accessibility in design, following WCAG guidelines to ensure inclusive experiences for all users, including those with disabilities.
Interaction Design: Focuses on interactive elements such as animations, transitions, and micro-interactions to enhance the user experience and make interactions intuitive and engaging.
Feedback Loop Management: Implements feedback loops with stakeholders, users, and development teams to continually refine and improve design based on user insights and technical feasibility.
Tool Proficiency: Skilled in design and prototyping tools like Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, and InVision; familiar with user testing platforms and analytics tools for data-driven insights.
UI Development Handoff: Prepares and shares detailed design specifications, assets, and style guides for development teams; ensures a smooth transition from design to development and aligns on technical requirements.
Project Management & Timelines: Manages timelines for design deliverables, setting priorities, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and deadlines; uses project management tools like Asana, Jira, or Trello.
Cross-Platform Design: Designs for multiple platforms (e.g., web, mobile, tablet) ensuring responsiveness, adaptive layouts, and consistency across devices and screen sizes.
Customer Empathy: Uses empathy to understand and anticipate user needs, motivations, and pain points; designs solutions that resonate with users and solve real problems.
Innovation & Trend Awareness: Stays updated on industry trends, design best practices, and emerging technologies; brings innovative ideas and solutions to keep the user experience fresh and competitive.
Team Leadership & Mentorship: Leads and mentors junior designers, providing feedback, guidance, and fostering a collaborative design environment; champions design thinking across the organization.
Hands-On Design Execution: Directly involved in all design stages, from conceptualization to final design; manages design assets, adjusts designs based on feedback, and ensures quality in all deliverables.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
5+ years of experience in CX, UX, and UI design, with a strong portfolio showcasing successful projects across SaaS, Web and mobile platforms.
Proven experience in conducting and applying user research, usability testing, and data analysis for design decision-making.
Visual Design, Mockups, and User Interface Design skills
Front-End Development expertise
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Proficiency in design tools like Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, and white boarding prototyping tools such as Miro, InVision
Strong understanding of design systems, style guides, and maintaining UI consistency across multiple platforms.
Excellent communication skills to articulate design concepts and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and commitment to creating inclusive design experiences.
