Senior Credit Portfolio Analyst

Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified, motivated individual to join our organization as a Senior Credit Portfolio Analyst. You will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on the performance of loan portfolios. This role involves assessing credit risk, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights to support decision-making processes.

Responsibilities

Monitor and analyze the performance of loan portfolios, including delinquency rates, default rates, and overall portfolio quality.
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and benchmarks to assess portfolio health.
Identify trends, risks, and opportunities within the loan portfolio.
Conduct comprehensive credit risk assessments of existing and potential borrowers.
Develop and maintain financial models to forecast loan portfolio performance.
Perform stress testing and scenario analysis to assess the impact of various economic conditions on the loan portfolio.
Calculate risk-adjusted returns and other financial metrics to support decision-making.
Prepare detailed reports and presentations on loan portfolio performance, credit risk assessments, and market analysis.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of portfolio holdings, transactions, and performance metrics.
Assist in the preparation of regulatory reports and compliance documentation.
Identify and assess potential risks within the loan portfolio, including market, credit, and operational risks.
Recommend risk mitigation strategies to ensure alignment with the organization’s risk tolerance and lending objectives.
Monitor compliance with internal lending policies and regulatory requirements.
Communicate findings and recommendations clearly and effectively to senior management and other stakeholders.
Stay informed about changes in regulations and industry best practices.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics or any numerate field.
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in portfolio management and financial analysis preferably in a financial services institution.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
Proficiency in financial modelling and credit risk assessment techniques.
Excellent research and data analysis capabilities.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software (e.g., Moody’s Analytics, SAS, SQL).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerBI, Powerpoint, Word etc.).
Good critical-thinking skills; ability to effectively gather data, analyze and make well informed decisions.
Proactiveness; going beyond the obvious, gathering complex data to get to the heart of issues
