Senior 3D Administrator

JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE 

The 3D Tools Administrator will be responsible for administration and technical support for the tools in the AVEVA and AUTODESK Suite. As a 3D Tool Administrator, you will help 3D project setup, configuration, and administration using Hexagon S3D, Aveva E3D, etc. Your role ensures the software functions optimally, supports our cluent and DP design team, and maintains data integrity of AVEVA and 3D projects. Your expertise in AVEVA will be critical to project success, ensuring smooth, effective design activities and client satisfaction (both internal and external).

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES 

The 3D admin is responsible for configuring the software to ensure it meets the specific requirements of the project. This involves setting up the database, creating project templates, and configuring project settings.
Responsible for managing user accounts and permissions within the software. They create user accounts, set up user roles, and assign permissions to ensure that users can access the features and functions they need.
Responsible for managing project data, including creating and updating project data, maintaining data integrity, and ensuring data security.
Responsible for providing technical support to the project team. This involves troubleshooting any issues that arise, providing training to users, and ensuring that the software is functioning correctly.
Oversee the entire PDMS/E3D system administration lifecycle, including the initial setup, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of software environments across multiple projects.
Conduct regular system health checks, performance tuning, and optimization to maintain the PDMS/E3D environment’s high availability and efficiency.
Implement comprehensive backup and disaster recovery solutions, ensuring data integrity and system reliability for mission-critical operations.
Design and automate custom scripts and utilities to streamline repetitive tasks and improve productivity, leveraging advanced programming skills.
Lead the troubleshooting and resolution of complex system issues, interfacing with software vendors and internal IT teams to resolve high-level incidents.
Develop, standardize, and manage extensive civil, instrument, F&G, electrical and piping catalogues, and specifications, ensuring compliance with global engineering standards (e.g., ASME, ASTM, DIN).
Drive the continuous improvement of catalogue data structures, implementing robust validation processes to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
Collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to capture detailed requirements and translate them into actionable specifications within the PDMS/E3D environment.
Conduct regular audits of catalogue and specification databases, identifying and rectifying discrepancies to maintain alignment with project and industry standards.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education

A University degree in Engineering.

Experience

Extensive experience (7-10 years) in the Oil & Gas industry with direct experience of project engineering, design and construction. At least 5 years should have been spent as an Aveva E3D administrator design work.
