Summary of Job Role
The Sale representative role is a direct marketing role involving field sales and marketing, in which you will promote the company’s products and services to an audience of both existing and potential customers. It is the job of the sales representative to help increase sales by raising the profile of the business, through targeted promotional marketing campaigns and strategies.
The individual must be a good communicator, have a passion for marketing, and be confident, intelligent, smart, creative and innovative.
The person must also be goal/target oriented, self-driven and able to work under pressure.
The person will set up in-person appointments, correspondence & phone contact with individuals and corporate clients.
Identify new customers & sales opportunities and cultivate a database of qualified leads through cold calls and networking.
Responsibilities
Present, promote and sell products/services using solid arguments to existing and prospective customers
Perform cost-benefit and needs analysis of existing/potential customers to meet their needs
Establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships
Reach out to customer leads through cold calling
Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction
Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within schedule
Coordinate sales effort with team members and other departments
Analyze the territory/market’s potential, track sales and status reports
Keep abreast of best practices and promotional trends
Continuously improve through feedback
Educational Qualification
OND/ HND/ B.Sc Degree in any field.
Requirements & Skills:
Proven work experience as a sales representative
Strong relationship building skills & an entrepreneurial drive required
Proficiency in the use of emails, and excellent use of Microsoft office
Minimum of 1-3 years sales experience, face to face direct sales and B2B sale
Be able to achieve targets and meet deadlines
Ability to effectively reach decision-makers and quickly determine opportunity potential
Exhibit excellent communication skills both written and oral in a professional manner
Familiarity with BRM and CRM practices
Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in sales
Excellent selling, and negotiation skills
Prioritizing, time management and organizational skills
Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to the audience needs
Relationship management skills and openness to feedback
Ability to travel when necessary to meet with customers and/or stakeholders and build business relationships
Compensation
Compensation package is competitive and largely commission based. You are paid based on the percentage of the sales you make in addition to fixed incentives.
