Job Description
Main Functions:

Supervise and manage all rope access operations on offshore facilities (e.g., FPSO, drilling rigs) to ensure that work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards and regulations.
Lead and oversee rope access activities for high-risk operations, including inspections, maintenance, repairs, and installations in hard-to-reach areas such as structural components, pipelines, and equipment.
Develop work plans and risk assessments for rope access activities, ensuring that all potential hazards are identified and mitigated before commencing work.
Conduct rope access system inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards. Responsible for certifying the safety of rope access systems used by technicians.
Provide leadership and training for RAT Level 1 and Level 2 technicians, ensuring their compliance with safety procedures and operational standards.
Lead rescue operations in case of emergencies, ensuring that rope access rescue techniques are carried out efficiently and in a timely manner.
Ensure that all safety measures, such as fall protection and emergency response procedures, are in place and followed during rope access tasks.
Maintain accurate records of rope access activities, including inspections, maintenance logs, safety checks, and personnel performance.
Coordinate with other departments, such as maintenance, production, and safety, to ensure the smooth execution of rope access tasks and optimize workflow.

Experience

Minimum of 2 years as RAT Level 2 with demonstrated expertise in rope access tasks in offshore environments.
5+ years of total rope access experience, including supervision of teams, safety compliance, and complex operations in offshore or industrial environments.

Skills and Qualifications:
Rope Access Expertise:

Mastery of advanced rope access techniques, including rigging, rescues, and specialized installations.
Ability to perform complex tasks that require rope access, such as equipment installation, structural inspections, and maintenance work at height or in confined spaces.

Leadership and Supervisory Skills:

Strong experience leading and supervising a rope access team.
Ability to train, mentor, and evaluate the performance of junior technicians (RAT Level 1 and 2).

Risk Assessment and Safety Compliance:

Expertise in conducting risk assessments for rope access tasks and ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations.
Ability to manage emergency response plans and ensure readiness for rescue operations.

Technical Skills:

Proficient in identifying and resolving mechanical and technical issues in offshore systems.
Strong problem-solving skills to handle unexpected challenges during rope access operations.

Communication Skills:

Excellent communication skills for coordinating between teams, reporting progress, and escalating issues.
Capable of creating and reviewing technical reports, job plans, and safety documentation.

Physical Fitness and Health:

Excellent physical fitness for performing demanding rope access tasks in challenging offshore conditions.
Ability to work under pressure and in extreme environments, including confined spaces and at significant heights.
IRATA Level 3 certification (or equivalent) for rope access technicians.
Offshore safety certification (e.g., BOSIET, HUET).
Medical Certificate for offshore work (fitness to work in confined spaces and at heights).
Additional certifications such as first aid, rescue operations, and risk assessment are preferred.
