Role Summary/Purpose
As an Accountant with some experience you will be responsible for supporting more senior accountants, performing and reviewing basic accounting entries.
At this level you will be expected to explain variations in accounts and work with auditors on process improvements.
You will follow an individual work plan and meets day-to-day short term objectives. In addition, you would be responsible for financial reporting.
Essential Responsibilities
Prepare and review account reconciliations
Prepare and review journal entries ensuring compliance with local accounting procedures and IFRS
Drive the timely preparation of assigned journal entries driving increased efficiency
Prepare periodic balance sheet analysis
Engage with auditors to answer questions in regards to control processes and account reconciliations
Prepare analysis and explanations behind variations for financial reporting
Qualifications/Requirements
Demonstrated leadership ability
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in Accounting, Finance or a related field of study with less than 2 years’ work experience in an accounting or finance role
High performer with a passion to achieve positive business results
Curiosity and desire to learn and expand skill set
Flexible, adaptable, and open to change
Proficiency in Microsoft office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
Desired Characteristics:
Strong analytical skills, a team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Smart and independent thinker who can work with minimal supervision
Strong orientation towards process improvement
Been a Chartered accountant will be an advantage
Audit Experience is an added advantage
