Job Summary
We are hiring a Relationship Officer – Import to manage and strengthen relationships with import customers.
This role focuses on logistics, customs clearing, and supply chain optimization to ensure smooth and compliant shipment handling.
Responsibilities
Act as the primary liaison between EFL Logistics and import customers, addressing inquiries and providing timely solutions.
Build and maintain strong client relationships to enhance satisfaction and loyalty.
Provide regular shipment updates, including status, delays, and other key information.
Ensure compliance with import regulations, customs clearance procedures, and documentation requirements.
Guide clients through the customs clearing process, including tracking shipments, duty assessment, payment processing, regulatory compliance (NAFDAC, SON), and coordinating haulage.
Work closely with customs and regulatory agencies to expedite clearance and resolve issues.
Keep clients informed of changes in import policies, tariffs, and duties.
Prepare and review shipping documents, invoices, bills of lading, and customs declarations.
Provide daily reports on operational performance and service metrics.
Analyze client feedback to improve delivery service.
Build strong relationships with business partners, government officials, and industry groups to support company goals.
What We Are Looking For
Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Logistics & Customer Relationship Management certification is a plus.
3 – 5 years in import logistics, customs clearing, or supply chain management.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) for reporting and data analysis.
Strong understanding of customs regulations, import documentation, bonded operations, Incoterms, and global shipping practices.
Excellent communication, negotiation, relationship management, and conflict resolution skills.
Service-oriented, solution-driven, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
Team players with strong verbal and written communication skills.
