The Position
The Registrar is a Principal Officer and the Chief Administrative Officer of the University responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administrative work of the University except as regards matters for which the Bursar is responsible.
The Registrar is the Secretary to the Council, Senate, Congregation, and Convocation of the University.
The Person
Candidate for the post shall be visionary and possess the ability to provide good leadership, have personal integrity, and demonstrate private transparency in public and private life.
Candidate for the post must not be more than 59 years as at the time of applying for this job and is expected to be a person who enjoys excellent physical and mental health.
Persons who have served as Registrar of a university, or currently serving as Registrar of a university need not apply.
Qualifications
The candidate for this post shall:
Possess a good honours degree from a recognized university. Possession of higher degree(s) will be an added advantage.
Have had at least fifteen (15) years cognate experience from a recognized university, and must have served at a senior administrative level.
To have served as a Deputy Registrar in a University or Tertiary Education Institute would be an added advantage.
Be a member of the Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUFA) and any other Administrative (professional) body.
Be computer literate and conversant with relevant computer packages/applications and Have strong interpersonal, oral written communication skills from a recognized university and must have served at senior administrative level. To have served as a Deputy Registar in a university or tertiary education institute would be an added advantage.
Salary
CONTISS 15.
Tenure
The successful candidates shall hold office for a period of five (5) years from the effective date of appointment which can be extended for another term of one (1) year only subject to satisfactory performance as may be determined by appropriate University Statutes and the Governing Council of the Nigeria Maritime University, Okerenkeko.
