Quantity Surveyor

Role Information

The Quantity surveyor will be responsible for preparation of tender Bill of Quantities for construction projects for Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing areas. He or she will support the tendering engineers in pricing and cost verification services that meet high-quality standards.

A summary of role’s responsibility is as follows:

Compute takeoff and measurement of construction works for consultants tender document and design drawings for Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing services
Preparation of bill of quantities for Road and building projects.
Preparation of document for tendering.
Measure and value work done on site (work related to structural, architectural and MEP trades) Prepare of bill for Engineering measurement and Evaluation.
Maintain records and produce periodical reports of quantities and activities.
Valuation and inspection of completed work
Analyze progress and write detailed reports on projects.

Education & Experience

BSc or HND in Quantity Surveying
Minimum of 4-7 years relevant working experience in building construction, especially costing quantities for MEP in well a structured environment and must be a Registered Surveyor
Membership of a professional body in the related field is an added advantage.

Excellent negotiation skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Experience in taking bills of quantities for buildings and finishing works
Strong numeracy skills
Very good attention to details
Good AutoCAD skills and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suites.
Knowledge of relevant legal issues associated with the construction industry
