Pump Attendant

Job Summary

A Pump Attendant is responsible for operating fuel pumps, serving customers in a friendly and efficient manner, and ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the station. This role requires excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and adherence to health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Fuel Dispensing:

Dispense fuel (petrol, diesel, kerosene, etc.) accurately to customers’ vehicles or containers.
Ensure proper measurement and avoid spillage or wastage.

Customer Service:

Greet customers warmly and address their needs professionally.
Assist customers with inquiries about fuel types, station services, or other products available.

Cash Handling:

Collect cash or process electronic payments from customers.
Issue receipts and ensure accurate cash balancing at the end of each shift.

Maintenance and Housekeeping:

Keep the fuel pump area clean, safe, and free of debris.
Perform regular checks of the pumps to ensure they are in proper working order.
Restock products such as lubricants, car accessories, and beverages when needed.

Health & Safety Compliance:

Follow all safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe environment for customers and staff.
Report any faults or hazardous conditions immediately to the Station Manager.

Qualifications and Skills

Education: Minimum of an SSCE/ND
Experience: Prior experience in a similar role is an advantage but not mandatory.
Skills:

Strong customer service skills.
Basic math and cash handling abilities.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
