The incumbent will, under direct supervision of the Head of Mission, be in charge of the implementation of Health and Nutrition projects in Magumeri, Magumeri LGA, Borno State, Nigeria.
The incumbent will also coordinate with the Health and Nutrition expert, who will ensure a sound implementation and monitoring of all the foreseen activities.
Tasks and Responsibilities
The Health and Nutrition Project Manager is responsible for the overall management and supervision of projects’ activities at all phases and is also responsible for achieving projects’ objectives, ensuring that it will be completed within set time, budget and set quality. In particular he/she will be responsible for:
Implementation of the Health and Nutrition projects, according to the signed Agreements and further modification approved by the donor
Assessments, projects’ implementation and monitoring, reports (final and interim) preparations for institutional and public funding
Preparation of all the accounting documents, including tender and procurement for intermediate and final financial reports required by the donor
Maintain sound relationship with the donors
Maintain ongoing surveillance of the developing humanitarian situation and adjust activities accordingly
Coordinate with local authorities in Magumeri, Magumeri LGA
Position Requirements
Degree in Economics, Social Sciences, Public Health, Nutrition or other
Three years of relevant work experience dealing with humanitarian interventions, preferably in Nigeria or in English speaking African countries
Minimum of 5 years of experience in relevant program management or technical advisory roles in complex projects will be highly preferred
Past overseas experience is essential
Prior experience in Nigeria for more than one year desirable
Experience in team management
Prior experience and knowledge of working under humanitarian Cluster mechanism is highly desirable
Fluency in English is required
Flexibility to respond to the changing nature of humanitarian context and operational difficulties in the field
Ability to cope with stress and work well within multiethnic and multicultural teams
Willingness to learn and take responsibility
Management and leadership skills
