Responsibilities
Oversee the general management and administration of Vendors within the company including procurement of goods and services insurance cover.
Develop Strategies for procurement.
Manage the contracting, tender and engagement processes of the company to achieve competitiveness, transparency and economic of scale.
Coordinate accreditation, enlistment and delisting third party service providers to the company through established and documented criteria.
Ensure continuous monitoring of local/foreign markets with a view of keeping abreast of market developments through market surveys and intelligence report on prevailing rental and capital value of goods and services.
Arrange for timely custom clearing of imported materials and transportation of same to MESL .
Ensure that import duties assessment and insurance of goods are established on time and that all shipping information is available.
Participate in periodic internal and external purchasing /tender committee meetings.
Manage and coordinate the dissemination of procurement information within the company and to external stakeholders or suppliers.
Support activities that ensure current operations, practices and processes are in alignment with corporate objectives and best practices.
Coordinate and supervise team activities and ensure compliance with the company’s operating policies, controls and procedures.
Monitor/manage performance of subordinates against pre-assigned goals.
Qualifications
A University Degree in Engineering and relevant discipline.
Min of 8 – 10 years working experience in procurement within production, power generation and manufacturing industry.
Project Management Certification.
Post Graduate and/or professional qualification is an advantage.
