Develop and implement the organization’s legal strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements.
Provide strategic counsel to the Board of Directors, MD, and senior leadership on corporate governance, compliance, and risk management.
Oversee all legal matters related to corporate structure, intellectual property, litigation and mergers & acquisitions.
Ensure Babban Gona’s full compliance with local, national, and international laws governing agribusiness, financial services, and technology.
Identify potential legal risks and develop proactive mitigation strategies.
Stay updated on evolving regulations and provide recommendations for compliance adjustments.
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including partnership agreements, vendor contracts and financing agreements.
Participate in the investment, valuation and risk management processes.
Assist the Leadership team with strategic decisions and business initiatives associated with fundraising, marketing, and investor relations.
Build a network of institutional investor relationships as a foundation for future capital raises; lead investor due diligence, transaction advisory, and closing.
Develop and manage communication protocols for all boarded investors, including distribution of periodic performance updates and financial information.
Develop a thorough understanding of investors’ investments and activity in order to competently represent the company and report to investors;
Manage partners and third-party vendors such as legal counsel and marketing consultants;
Manage certain levels of investor communication such as transaction announcements (new deals, add-ons, exits);
Work with senior leadership and external consultants to optimize and maintain the Babban Gona brand.

Requirements
Experience in Legal and Government Relations Role
Bachelor’s degree in Law
8+ years’ proven relevant work experience. Experience gained in a professional services firm will be an added advantage
Strong working knowledge of industry legal requirements and controls
Related experience in a Investor Relations role within a fast-moving and dynamic business environment, preferably in a senior investor relations role
Good knowledge of legal requirements and procedures
Brilliant oral and written communication skills
Fluency in industry practices and professional standards
Highly-analytical with strong attention to detail
Other Requirements
Solid understanding of what is needed to form critical plans to manage crisis events or compliance violations, should they ever occur
Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical ability
Excellent presentation skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines
Ability to provide support to; and collaborate with internal units and external groups to achieve business objectives
